While our #dronemag crew battles the melting snow in interior BC, our #lidar crew is on site in northern Quebec where it is 27 degrees! The crew has completed 170 kms of power line inspection and is starting on various exploration projects totalling over 150 sq kms of Lidar data. One of our talented geophysicists, Andrew Gagnon-Nandram, swapping batteries on a project in central BC. We have been able to clock in an average of 120 line-km’s per day on this project with strong topographical relief and challenging access. Our extremely light weight and mobile equipment is specifically geared toward producing high resolution data within 80m of the ground surface. Snowy days for both our crews in Ontario and BC! Here, low cloud ceiling and fog had the crew on standby due to icing conditions in #britishcolumbia. Through our work with the International Airborne Geophysics Safety Association, we have been able to create a #dronemag operations specific Risk Assessment Tool for each of our projects and for day to day operations in the field such as this. Along with our SOP check lists, daily safety meetings, extensive knowledge on regulations and a willingness to be the leader in safe drone operations, we have created a safety culture at @pioneerexploration that goes above and beyond any current industry standard. #safety #mineralexploration

A few more days and we will be finishing up another monster 4500 line km #dronemag survey in northern Quebec. We had @engineered_case custom manufacture our drone boxes in order to keep our drones safely packed away and dry while mobilizing them to and from the survey site. They are light weight, easy to handle and are extremely durable. Having the @mission.trailers to throw everything in at the end of the day is another easy way to keep our gear clean and organized. Our #Mining clients are flying more #LiDAR than ever before. By 2024, the global aerial imaging market is projected to reach $4B USD, and the UAV industry is one of the fastest growing. While new operators and service providers step into the industry every day, as consumers it is important to know what to expect and who you are hiring. Ask questions like: Do you own your own sensors and equipment? Do you handle data Aquisition through to delivery of final results? Have you be...en through a 3rd party industry specific safety audit (such as Basic Avaition Risk Standards, or "BARS")? Do you belong to an industry recognized safety standards organization (e.g., IAGSA https://www.iagsa.ca/)? Can you provide your safety records and flight logs for review? Do you process your data internally or outsource? Can you provide a few references? There are many more specific to the job, but the answers to these will give you a sense of the level of risk you will be taking on depending on the #airbornesurvey service provider you select. More than once Pioneer Exploration Consultants Ltd. have been asked to come "save" a botched survey job that we lost to a new, sub standard service provider based on bid price alone.
