You are seeing it right. 4 years, 2 year old twins and a (about to be) 1 year old. In case you didn't know, these parents are saints! I met Katherine and Vance years ago when I second shot their wedding. I was immediately nervous since there were horses involved in the wedding (in case you didn't know I am slightly afraid of these beasts we have decided are pets!) But Vance put me at ease and I had a wonderful time shooting their wedding! A few years later we somehow ended u...p connecting at our kids' swim class! What are the chances we'd have boys weeks apart in age and end up in the same swim class with them!? Reconnecting with Katherine has been amazing. I've never met someone that is basically exactly me in every way. (Except she likes horses... I'm still not there haha!) These two have been through so much over the last couple of years and especially in the last couple months and even with four kids 4 and under and so much going on in their own lives, they still reach out over things that you might not think to reach out about. They are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have ever met and I feel honoured to call them friends <3 (Oh and they have a barncat named, Max. You would know this if you met my son because that darn ginger cat is ALL he talks about....)

Can we just take a moment to talk about how this was Sunday.... and today there's a blizzard. I would really like to know how that's even possible haha

Sorry I have been a bit quiet as of late. I'm about to jump into busy season which means that I'll be spending most of my "extra" time shooting, editing or responding to emails. Which means my kids get a little less of me. I'm always grateful for my business being successful, especially during this crazy time.... but I always miss time with my kids. So I've been spending less time at my desk and more time with my kids in preparation for that not being possible very soon!

I FINALLY finished all of my nieces newborn photos. To be fair, there were a LOT! Now I need to start planning her 3 month session ;)

I am just loving how many people are doing Newborn Greenhouse sessions or adding them to their package. It's really a favorite for me now!!

One of my favorite parts of a newborn session is the sibling photos. But this is also the part that stresses me out the most since usually these are some of the most important shots to parents and you just never know how the older sibling(s) will be! I admit my stress levels are usually the highest when the older littles are still just baby's themselves. In this case 14 month Walker with his new 1 month old brother made for a pretty stressed out photographer. And apparently for absolutely NO reason because Walker absolutely ROCKED these shots and baby Teddy was snug as a bug in big brother's tiny little arms. These are just my favorites!! <3

I love the whole process of a newborn photo shoot. Even the processing. Sometimes though it gets a little overwhelming when I'm super busy, because newborn photos take a little extra afterwards. Did you know how much processing goes into these? (Obviously not every photo will have this much, but there is often a lot of extra touchups that you wouldn't have in other types of sessions.)

I know it's been a not-so-great day for a lot of you with a lot of news and some possible changes for Christmas.... so I figured you all needed a smile. And if this session doesn't bring you at least a smidge of happiness today... well I don't know, but I hope it does! Also I absolutely could not pick just one for this very special rainbow baby so you get them all!

Last time I saw these two was 3.5 years ago at their wedding. I know this because my son, Link, is 3.5 years old and he was about 3 weeks new when I shot their wedding! The one disadvantage of having your own business is not having mat-leave... I'm still not sure how I did a wedding a few weeks after a C-section, but I'm super glad I was able to be a part of their big day, and continue to be a part of their lives <3

I went HARD today! I culled probably 8 sessions and I edited at least 7! I am taking the night for myself and hopefully going to bed early. Lots of sessions went out today and most of the remainder should go out by Wednesday! Time to do some craft orders and get out the old Switch and play some Pikmin!!
