Van Lines, Moving Companies, Suppliers, and other Members of the Canadian Association of Movers have taken steps to ensure that they are staying up to date with the latest direction from the World Health Organization and all Public Health Organizations within Canada and around the world. Through education, communication, and collaboration, we can work together to provide safe moving and storage services. Canadians need to know that we are here, and we are working with fellow industry colleagues, clients, moving and storage partners, and government agencies to keep Canada moving. As a business considered an essential service according to the list released by the Government of Ontario last night, we do remain operational and providing services at this time. We continue to implement and adhere to strict safety/hygiene protocols for all staff coming in to work and providing services on customer sites. We are very focused on doing all we can to support the health and safety of our staff and customers while we continue to provide a high level of service as... always. Pricing for upcoming moves (short term and in the future) is now available by telephone/email/video calls - removing the need for in-home visits at this stage of the move cycle. We are offering online and telephone ordering options for packing materials (whether you're getting ready for a move or taking advantage of time at home to get organized) with free local delivery or pick up at any of our locations. Our operations staff are practicing enhanced vehicle, worksite, and equipment cleaning procedures, as well as rigorous hygiene protocols in all phases of carrying out their duties. While distancing between staff may not be possible in certain instances (carrying pieces of furniture that require more than one mover), safe distancing is practiced at every available opportunity, including limiting the number of staff in vehicle cabs, and ensuring distancing while on customer sites. We have increased the cleaning frequency for our administration and dispatch offices as well as providing supplies and guidelines to staff for regular cleaning of common surfaces during the day. Staff who can complete their work from home are permitted to do so to reduce the number of people in the office and support physical distancing for those who must report to the office. We are continually reviewing our practices to ensure they are offering the greatest degree of safety to both staff and customers. We will adjust our operations in accordance with advice from government and public health agencies. Kudos points are awarded monthly. Top Kudos-earning staff are also recognized quarterly and annually. In early February this year, we recognized four of our five winners for 2019. The 2019 Kudos Champ (annual overall winner) was Blaine T. Blaine is a mover at our Kingston branch and originall...y began with Capital in 1993!
