In June, I became a Certified intenSati instructor because I wanted some fun cardio and toning that was not like the gruelling boot camp mentality about performing or proving something. Also, as a certified Pilates instructor and neuro-fascia therapist, I know that running on a treadmill is really bad for the hips, spine and nervous system as it interferes with the grounding and equilibrium reflex...the ground is not supposed to move on you, you move on it. So not only did I... have fun, I lost the best 10 pounds that I could...I lost fear, worry, anger and upset by doing the fun moves with positive affirmations. I changed my inner dialogue and moved my body to move my min. I re-wrote a better script inside my head. I pictured a better mental movie inside my mind and starred in my own future-foward warrior mindest with a smile. I then sealed in all that goodness of the "cognitive behaviour therapy" for my body with meditation at the end of class. I even did the classes sitting in a chair and got a great workout. So I am teaching intenSati both in person Tuesday nights at 6 pm at my Roblin location inside The Yoga Barre but also on ZOOM, so I invite you to join in. The theme for the month of November is choosing to activate a positive state of being to overcome worry and fear. From fear to faith (you can add a religious connotation if is serves you) but I mean trusting your deepest innermost experience and moving from whining to wisdom, from worry to wisdom. It is all working out! It is a four week, every Tuesday, to hack into old habits and keep a commitment to yourself about your health and wellness, in a community that cares and shares the same mindset. Intensati mixes intention setting with "sati" (Pali for mindfulness), cardio, stretches, and community of embodied positivity practices with affirmations.
