The Maghreb Project is a new initiative curated by Batuki Music Society that explores cross-cultural and cross-genre music practices from North Africa. North Africa stretches from the Mediterranean to the southern boundary of the Sahara desert, and consists of the countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan and Egypt. The Maghreb region contains the largest population of Muslims in Africa, who share the written language of Arabic with its different spoken dialects. ... Featuring multi-instrumentalists and singers Hassan El Hadi, Nadjem fethi, Haiba, and Maryem Hassan Tollar. Polyphonic Ground is a proud partner for the debut performance this Friday at 8PM, which is part of Habari Africa Festival 2019 #free at Harbourfront Centre. Co-presented by Small World Music Society.

Al Maghreb Project at the Habari Festival at Harbourfront Centre. Great concert, and I'm looking forward to seeing their concert at the Aga Khan Museum in November.

There’s something extra exciting about a project’s debut... Especially at the 6th edition of Habari Africa Festival 2019!
