Pomerleau 14.02.2021

At Pomerleau, we encourage our teams to take on challenges, both professional and personal. They allow us to push our limits, strengthen the bonds that unite us, and take care of ourselves. During this past holiday season which was marked by the pandemic, we offered them the opportunity to once again partake in a Virtual Challenge! On the agenda: sporting challenges, moments to relax, opportunities to give back to loved ones and holiday activities... all completed with family members, as a virtual team and above all, in total safety! It wouldn't be a challenge, if there wasn't a winning team... congratulations to the Adaptability team for finishing first!

Watch this video to better understand the priorities put forward by JCCBI in sustainable development. From simple actions such as banning single-use plastic bottles from the construction site to more complex measures such as the construction of two fish crossings to allow for free movement, NHSL is taking the necessary steps to limit the impact of its activities on communities and the environment.

___ #tbt, join us as we go back in time to 2015 when we were at the very beginning of using drones in the construction industry. The AMT project (now known as Exo) in Montreal was the ideal site for this technology: it had a large surface area, required protecting heritage monuments, involved coordination between our building and civil divisions (for the building of the maintenance centre and railways). At that time, we used aerial captures to improve site logistics and identify the best areas for material storage without hampering the execution of the work. We also tested the ability to monitor work progress by comparing a 3D model produced by the data captured by the drone and our initial 3D model. The superposition and analysis of these models during the project allowed us to better visualize the elements that needed to be corrected and deliver a quality project to the client.
