TD Wealth Port Hood Triathlon will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2020. This years event will offer Individual, Super Sprint ( 12 years and over), Sprint, Olympic distance. There will also be a Team race Sprint and Olympic options. Registration will be opening soon! AND for our future Triathletes.... The Kids Triathlon ( ages 5-11) will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Additional information will be updated through the race Facebook Page in advance of the race.... The Port Hood Triathlon Committee would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this years triathlon. We had 64 participants ( 8 complete the Try a Tri- the shortest triathlon and is an ideal entry point for beginners looking to compete in their first triathlon), the weather was great, and the volunteers were amazing. The new bike route down the scenic Shore Road was well received by the participants with a series of rolling hills and minimal traffic. Hope to see everyone back again next year! We had a great day today for the Kids Triathlon- 43 participants from all over Canada ( Calgary to Newfoundland). Huge thanks to everyone who came and participated, volunteered or cheered on the kids. Hope to see everyone back next year! Lets hope we can recruit a few more for next year!!! 4 more sleeps until the kids Port Hood Triathlon. The triathlon is open to kids 5-12. It focuses on participation and is an excellent way to introduce kids to the sport of triathlon in a safe and non-competitive manner. Race distances are challenging, yet are short enough to be completed. The distances vary and it is all for FUN! Everyone receives a medal and we do not record the time/ placing. Distances 5, 6, 7- 25 m swim, 250 bike, 500 m run... 8, 9 ----- 50 m swim, 500 bike and 750 m run 10- under 12----- 100 m swim, 3 km bike and 2km run. We also allow teams if a participant is not comfortable with an aspect of the event . Helmets are also required. See more
