Weekend Adventures of #LuthierGuy. I've been putting off some much-needed shop expansion because things have sped up considerably during the pandemic (huge Thank-You to everyone who's ordered a guitar or purchased templates- I appreciate you all!). But, as the ever-wise Mrs. Potvin Guitars often reminds me, sometimes you need to slow down so you can speed up. So this weekend I'm getting a jump on installing a new dust collector. I think this may just be more than a two-coffee job :P
I love the smell of acrylic in the morning... said no one ever. #luthierguy #monday
Critical shop equipment failure.

Saturday Morning Confession: I'm not a make-stuff-from-pallets kind of guy. Most of the deliveries I get have pallets that are one step removed from firewood. This brand spankin' new pallet that looks like cedar showed up yesterday. There just might be some guitar bits hiding in here...
The Adventures of Luthier Guy (Episode 129): I needed to make a bunch of switch cavity covers. I tore the place apart looking for the jig I needed. I was just about to make a new jig when I found it buried in a corner. It just *might* be time for a shop clean-up :P #luthierguy

I spend waaay too much time obsessing over the details of my guitar builds. I also spend a crazy amount of time on the details of my templates so you can obsess over details on YOUR guitar builds Yes I'm talking to you (you know who you are) :P #details #jaguar

These are strange times folks. I've had many emails asking about how operational Potvin Guitars is right now. So far thankfully it's business as usual. I'll keep doing my thing as long as suppliers stay open, and shipping is not affected. Mrs. Potvin Guitars and I hope all of you stay safe and healthy. Take care of yourselves.
It looks like there's only one TV yellow Project '58 left. Get in touch with Doug at Mountain Cat Guitars and snap it up while you can ;)
Jeff is absolutely killin' it using his Potvin Guitars Mini-SS templates to build a couple of mini shredders for his boys. Nice work Jeff! Jeff: "This piece of sparkle coolness is one of two mini shredders I’m building for my sons. When asked what color he wanted, Matthew simply replied, red. Rowyco Kustoms Guitar Finishes nailed it with this awesome custom flake paint job. Pictures and video don’t do it justice. This guitar features a shorter 22.5 scale length, a 3/4 scal...e body, reverse headstock, Seymour Duncan pickups, Hipshot bridge and Gotoh locking tuners. Templates were designed and made by Mike Potvin at Potvin Guitars. Pictures of Nate’s will follow when it’s completed."

This is the last Dano style body available from the most recent batch. Should I make another batch? What models?
Custom order: 24.0" scale, Strat-heel, Snake-headstock. What other templates do you need?

Super Bee 426 in Top Banana Yellow. I always like the pop of black grain filler under transparent yellow on this color scheme :)
I hope you all had a great holiday and got some good guitar loot! Once again Mrs. Potvin Guitars shows she knows how to Christmas like a pro. Apparently, my 2020 will be busy with mad science experiments in the shop and the kitchen :P
