It is a day dedicated to honouring and celebrating the powerful, loving role birth mothers play in the lives of their children. As many of our supporters know, we put together Baby Box and hamper packages for new and soon-to-be moms. Each package is carefully curated to suit their specific needs. We like to include items that, as one staff member says, provides a moment of special for the moms. Typically we have an arsenal of lotions, shampoos and conditioners, bath bombs, nail polish, etc. to pull from, but we are critically low at this time. If you’re in a position to donate some bath and body products that will help make our clients feel pampered, they will appreciate it! Please DM or call us at 403-269-3110 to arrange drop off.

We have the best staff! Happy 50th birthday to Lori, the Centre’s Volunteer Coordinator. In addition to working with volunteers, she tirelessly advocates on behalf of clients. In the last month alone, she has helped clients battling homelessness, domestic violence, self harm, and of course, unexpected pregnancy. @lori.taylor: Weyour teammates and clientsare grateful for the day you were born!

Always a fun time, these classes provide opportunities for moms to connect with each other while also engaging their little ones in songs and stories. We are pleased to offer these classes in partnership with the Further Education Society of Alberta.

We are so grateful for our volunteers’ willingness to facilitate and teach classes online. In 2019, we provided 16 different types of classes to 1055 participants. We are on pace to do the same in 2020. Even in COVID, we will strive to meet our clients’ needs - we are grateful for the creativity and flexibility of our staff and volunteers to make this happen.

Thank you to the generous people from Oak Park Church Of Christ for the wonderful infant clothing donation! In addition to being adorable, the clothing was sorted to perfection. Our clothing room volunteers say thank-you, too!

Initially started by @campevergreenAB as a way to do something positive with the food they had ordered for camps, the Meals for Moms program has expanded thanks to the creativity and leadership of Cliff, Community Development Specialist at the Centre. Cliff says, Funds came in from a CPCC donor, @dalhousiechurch, and @MennoniteDisasterService for a total of 1720 meal servings that went out to 172 deliveries to clients of CPCC, @strathmorepregnancycarecentre, @airdriepregnanc...ycarecentre, @nsmcalgary, @emmahousecalgary and @ehyyc between April 14 and July 10. Volunteers delivered these meals, and @legacykitchens stepped up to drive meals out to Strathmore every week. The meal program has now been taken over by the compassionate arm of @mycschurch, who has received some government grants to continue this service--amazing! . #mealsformoms #supportingwomen #foodforfamilies See more

Our Meals for Moms program in collaboration with Centre Street Church and Dalhousie Church has been incredibly successful. So successful, in fact, that we require another freezer for our Centre.
