An early spring has allowed us to start our construction projects as well This is the continuation of a project started last fall. Two level deck with water feature. Yet to come a small retaining wall along the high side, clothesline, privacy section, planting beds and possibly a pizza oven like in yesterday’s post. These clients are so excited to have this project underway and able to enjoy their backyard sooner than expected!

Who LOVES pizza- I DO! Who would LOVE to have a pizza oven in their backyard - I WOULD! If you would too, give us a shout & our Mason Charlie would be happy to make it happen Note: This is just a sample made for display purposes.

After a frosty morning this sure has turned into a beautiful day. WE ARE SOOOO EXCITED - Tomorrow morning we are holding our "annual kick off staff meeting". Due to Covid restrictions we will be holding this event off-site this year. Just an FYI that the office will be closed until 1:00pm so that we can all attend and hear the great guest speakers we have lined up. After 33 years with Price Landscaping, Ellen has now officially retired. We will certainly miss Ellen’s bubbly personality and her commitment to providing beautiful landscape designs and professional customer service. It’s that time of year when our lunch room is transformed into a Christmas workshop. Christmas planters are in production and will be delivered soon!

Hi FB Friends! Just a reminder that this fall, we will be taking orders for bulb planting. Tulips and daffodils provide a nice splash of colour in the spring after a long winter. If interested, please let us know and we will provide an estimate! Once again this year, we will be offering our Christmas Planter Rental again. Last year, we began this service and many of you took advantage of it. We make beautiful planters in our shop and deliver them to you at the end of Novemb...er and pick them up again in early January. The rental fee is $190 + HST. Here is a picture of one we made up last year. Please let us know if you would like to order one (or two)! Chinch Bug season is here a bit earlier this year We have been finding them on many of our properties already. Here is a close up photo of what they look like. If you see brown patches on your lawn this is what may be causing the damage. Please contact us if you would like it checked and treated.

The weather has been beautiful and right now landscapes are looking lush and. However, it is very very . If you are able to, we encourage you to your lawns and beds a couple of times a week. Give them a good soaking early in the morning before the comes up or in the evening after the goes down. We have already seen signs of chinch as they love this hot weather! We are only seeing adults now but the ’s will soon follow Let us know ASAP if you suspect that you may have them and we can take a look. In Memory of a Dear Friend It is with overwhelming sadness we announce the passing of our most valued teammate and friend. For many years Paul led our Plant Health Division. He loved a challenge and was committed to helping customers resolve their plant health issues. He would spend hours researching solutions to problems as well as new products that he felt would benefit both his clients and the environment. Paul was IPM (Integrated Pest Management) accredited and was ada...mant that we followed proper pest management procedures. We will miss Paul’s commitment, professionalism and expertise in his field. As a person, Paul was a wonderful, caring and compassionate man. He had a great work ethic and was always a team player. Paul stayed positive in tough situations and was quick with a joke to keep things light when we were all a bit stressed. Paul was an integral part of our family and we will certainly miss him. We offer our condolences to his wife Helen, their children, grandchildren and the many others who are grieving the passing of this wonderful man.

Many of you are wondering about your fall clean ups. We only have a few left to do and we are trying to get them completed this week. The "white rain" amounts vary depending on who you listen to or what you read! We don't anticipate any great amounts of accumulation and with the warm temperatures coming on Sunday & Monday it will all be gone. Any clean ups we aren't able to get to this week will certainly be completed next

This week’s From The Pen of Paul...... Update Week of October 7th Fall fertilizer should be completed this week. Calcium treatments also. We are starting the fall aerations as well. If you are scheduled for a fall cleanup, the aeration will be done after.... Fall is here and the lawns are slowing down a lot. This is a good time to use the mulch attachment on your mower. If you have leaves you can mulch them. This returns nutrients to the soil. A study out of Michigan State University found that 100 pounds of leaves, about 5 large bags covering 1000 ft2 will easily decompose when mulched to the size of a dime. It is also easier on the lawn than raking them up. However, make sure to do one or the other.
