Let’s be real here, we all are messed up in some way or another. For me, it’s my left hip and my left knee. I tore part of a ligament in my hip several years ago back when I did CrossFit and over summer of 2020 I injured my knee. My family doctor claimed nothing is wrong with my knee. Thankfully, today, another doctor referred me to get some tests done to check and see if there’s something internal going on there. . So how have I been trying to manage the pain? I’m not a huge... believer in prescription drugs so if I can find a holistic approach and having a creative bestie/roommate who’d burn down a small village to ensure I function properly, you can sure as hell expect her to know something to help relieve my pain. . I’ve been using CBD infused pain balm designed by @modern.dogmom on my hip as well as my knee to help take some pain off my very upset joints. So what is this stuff and how does it work? . Pain balm is made from all organic ingredients: beeswax, cocoa butter which moisturizes the skin, avocado oil, white willow bark, ginger essential oil which is warming, and CBD isolate. Isolate is CBD stripped of all other compounds and left in a pure form. . . . . #primalevolution #holisticnutrition #certifiednutritionist #nutrition #iam1stphorm #health #healthylifestyle #healthy #painbalm #weightloss #diet #motivation #cbdoil #workout #wellness #lifestyle #fitnessmotivation #bodybuilding #healthyliving #healthyeating #fitfam #potato #cbdwellness #training #nutritionist #eatclean #cbdhealth #cbdproducts #cleaneating See more

Different type of #transformationtuesday . . Meet Rico, he is my almost 5 year old bully. He’s also the dog that opened my eyes into the world of dog training. I knew nothing about his breed, I truly didn’t know anything about the sigma against dogs like him. I knew people frowned upon dogs with his appearance but I didn’t understand why, all I knew was I wanted him to be the most well mannered dog I could own. . Rico came home at 6 weeks old and from the first day he sat in ...the front seat of my car I knew he was going to change my world and open my eyes to so many possiblities. The first year was a rough start, he challenged me in ways I couldn't imagine, and he still challenges me to this day but I take every challenge as his way of challenging me to grow as a person, not as an act of defience. . Every dog is different, every dog has its own quirks, what drives them, what motivates them. It's our job as dog owners to figure out what suits our dogs best. If you live in a multi-dog household you need to determine what is best for every dog, just because one dog likes to play fetch doesn't mean the other one does. . Rico has taught me the importance of patience, the meaning of unconditional love, the meaning of loyalty as well as confidience. He is one of the main reasons I am the way I am today and I am forever grateful for that. . Learning from your dog are one of the best and most rewarding moments of owning a dog. . So learn from them, live in the moment with them. . The 3 D’s in dog training. . Distance. Duration. Distraction. . Dogs don’t generalize well, meaning if they learn to sit in front of you, they don’t automatically know that sit means the same thing when you’re on the other side of the room. As each D increases, it becomes more difficult for your dog to understand how to perform a behavior successfully. And if all three come into play without your dog having trained for each one individually, the chance of him doing what you... ask is slim. . Duration is the length of time your dog maintains a behavior. Some behaviors don’t have a duration factor, such as spinning in a circle or jumping over a bar, but for those behaviors that require your dog to hold a position, like sit or down, the longer he has to hold it, the harder the task becomes. . Distance is how far away you are from your dog when he does a behavior. The farther away you get, the less reliable your dog will become. When you’re training distance, start small and build slowly. Make sure your dog can handle a relatively large distance with you in front of him before you start moving to his side or behind him. . Distraction involves whatever else is going on around your dog when he does a behavior, from a squirrel running across the yard to the sound of the doorbell. If your dog finds it exciting or disrupting, it’s a distraction. Even extra-special treats can be distracting for some dogs. Be sure your dog can handle duration and distance before you start adding distractions. . Part of our puppy manners and obedience at @dankroftk9 we have a puppy group class where we tie together the 3 D’s. . #dankroftk9 #primalevolution #holisticnutrition #certifiednutritionist #nutrition #iam1stphorm #health #healthylifestyle #healthy #dogsofinstagram #dogknowledge #dk9team #motivation #gym #workout #wellness #lifestyle #fitnessmotivation #bodybuilding #1stphorm #healthyeating #fitfam #protein #exercise #training #nutritionist #dogtrainer #puppytraining #workingdog #obediencetraining

It’s about making small subtle changes, not large drastic changes. Choose water over juice, add some greens carbs instead of extra starchy carbs. Eat out less, and cook more. Add a little bit of cardio instead of cutting your calories back. Everything is moderation, most importantly, don’t deprive yourself of the things you love. . Since 2020, has started I’ve been working on making some changes to my lifestyle, nothing too crazy or drastic, just little changes that can chang...e into healthy habits. . Yes, I allow myself to go out and eat at restaurants with friends. Yes, some days I’m too lazy to cook so I order in. Yes, I eat popcorn and candy at the movies. But the thing is, i do it GUILT-FREE. Too many people become so fixated on things like dieting and exercising that they lose track of the purpose behind it all. . Sure everyone wants that perfect beach bod but it’s about your overall health. It’s about finding balance. So many individuals beat themselves up over having that one piece of chocolate or having that extra piece of dessert that they forget what it’s like to LIVE. . Start building habits slowly overtime. One baby step at a time. I promise you won’t regret it. See more

Some days are hard days. Some days feel like everything and everyone is against you. Some days you just don’t even want to leave the comfort of your bed. It’s days like those that you need to look back and how far you’ve come, how much you probably struggled and felt like quitting. Days like those help you remember that you as an individual can accomplish ANYTHING you put your mind to. So if today is one of those days remember what you have done and what you can do. . What is 2020 going to be to you? . January is the month of the year most people set goals, pick a resolution but most people don’t follow through. It’ll last a week or two Max before they fall off and quit. . So what’s it gonna be for you? Are you gonna set a goal and follow through? It doesn’t even have to be something as big as a full diet transformation. It could be as little as changing one thing per month about your current lifestyle. Maybe cut the soda and stick to wa...ter or even simply increase your water intake. . Whatever it is, even something such as saving up for that dream vacation. Stick with it. Give it your all. Don’t be a quitter. New goals, new year, new possibilities See more
