The Egg is crafted by hand and is made of more than 13 kilograms (30lbs) of fine chocolate and stands 76 cm high (30), it is sure to satisfy the largest sweet tooth, said Leonardo Priore, Chocolatier and co-owner of Criveller Cakes. We would like to start an on line silent auction for this Giant Egg! We think you should plan an Afternoon Tea in your home! A sure way to enjoy some time in your home. A mid-day pleasure-fest that combines caffeine, nibbles and sometimes bubbly. Make it fun! Bring out some china or nice dishes--they do not have to match! Some lovely napkins and a table cloth! Get dressed ...up! Add a hat if you wish! Some ideas: 1. Choose some different tea flavours to make it more interesting. Ensure to steep your tea so its not too strong or too weak. Ensure to have milk, honey, lemon, sugar or cinnamon sticks (depends on the tea you are serving). Avoid your dining room! You should host your tea in a more relaxed setting--like your living room or a sitting area. 2. You should have something to nibble on. Tea sandwiches..cut into rectangles or triangles with the crust cut off. Ham or turkey with swiss or cheddar cheese or cream cheese with cucumbers or smoked salmon would be delicious. Even just some PB & J. 3. Scones served with jams or jellies as well as clotted cream and/or a lemon curd or butter. If you have scones--they should be served warm! You could even do biscuits! 4. Are you all hanging in there? Chef Smythe our Executive Chef has come up with a recipe with items you can use from your pantry (hopefully ;))! "Clean the Fridge-Pantry Corn Cakes" 2 cups corn niblets (fresh, canned or frozen) 1 cup cornmeal... 2 cups flour 1tbsp baking powder 6 eggs 750 ml milk 4oz. canola oil 1 diced red pepper 2 stalks diced celery 1 small chopped onion (any) 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning or Creole or seasoning salt Blend together the above ingredients to make a wet mix, then ladle the batter onto a skillet (2oz) to make the corn cake.
