In June Project Linus Canada for Niagara Region will have a new coordinator. I have stepped down due to no longer being able to commit to the charity. Anyone having questions etc please contact Lori Pagett through the Canadian website: projectlinuscanada.org.
I'm still accepting 6 inch knitted or crocheted squares using vibrant acrylic yarn for blankets to give out to kids in stressfull situations. This iis a good way to decrease your stash of part balls of yarn and donate to charity too
yesterday - yes Sunday December 8th I had Canada Post deliver blankets from one of my loyal blanketeers. They are gorgeously soft fleece with very uniquely braided edging. Children will adore them!!!!! BTW I am still accepting 6 inch squares that are knit or crocheted with acrylic yarn. The yarn may be all one colour or varigated and child friendly. I will be the one joining the squares together.
Two blankets are going to the childre of this past weekends fatal situation. The blankets do not replace the items stolen from the family home nor replace their parents. The blankets give security in a tragic situation to the children. No matter how much you like or dislike the parents, the children are affrcted by everything in the environment! The children and their caregivers are not charged in any way for these new home made blankets!
Yesterday I received a donation oftwo large garbage bags of yarn, most of it was full skeins/balls of yarn. They are compliments of Michael. Thank you. Work on blankets shall continue at the Niagara Region chapter!
