What’s your #lattefactor ? Better yet, what IS a latte factor? You know those little daily incidentals you spend your money on but don’t really put a lot of thought into, like your daily - or several times daily - Starbucks stops? Those all add up. Quickly. As I sit here this afternoon working on my taxes I’m once again reminded of this as I scan my credit card statements and add up all those convenient on the fly card reloads that they make so easy to do via their apps... I thought I knew my latte factor. Turns out, I’m guilty of not keeping on top of it either. Be cognizant of those small, seemingly insignificant expenses because over time they really do add up. That’s what knowing your latte factor means.

We have a new apprentice #officecat here at @purple_door_creative - although she’s not new to the family, Ellie is new to the office. She’s very timid and shy and doesn’t like changes so she spends most of her time in our bedroom. She started forays into my office (I suspect the fireplace is the magnetic draw she’s powerless to resist). I was compelled to sit for a bit and offer her a lap in front of the fire and just like that, she was entranced! Cosy fire + comfy lap = contented cat Welcome to the team, Ellie!

Sherwin Williams has announced their colour for 2021. Ironically, it looks to be almost the exact colour my kitchen was painted 10 years ago. Ahead of the design curve or what’s old is new again?? Thoughts?

In my office, there is a really comfy chair. And in the chair, there is a really cosy blanket. And on that blanket is a really contented cat. This is Oliver. I’m I the only one who is flabbergasted to know that it is OCTOBER???! Don’t get me wrong, fall is my favourite time of year and I’m sure everyone will be glad when 2020 really is hindsight and behind us...but where has the time gone???

Happy fall equinox! Fall officially began at 9:30am today, Tuesday September 22. Most of you are probably like me, and think that fall is always the 21st of September, but that isn't necessarily so. The equinox isn't determined by a date on a calendar, but rather by the position of the earth and the sun at a given time - when the sun crosses the celestial equator. The autumn equinox can occur anytime between September 21 and 24! This fluctuation in dates is also responsible for our need for a "leap year" every 4 years! Who knew?! This photo was taken in the fall by me several years ago. Isn't that tree magnificent??! I can't wait for the fall colours to peak!

It's the last long weekend of summer. I know, I know. I'm kinda sad too, but I do love fall. The fresh air, the changing colours, cozy sweaters, cuddling by a fire on a crisp fall evening...but I get ahead of myself! Summer is still here! How are you enjoying this weekend? When I'm taking my 360 photos, I often hide just out of sight around a corner, in this case, I ducked between 2 houses. The lines created by the 2 houses with the sliver of sky between them caught my eye.
