PURPLE DRAGON ILLNESS POLICY! It has long been a part of the house rules of Purple Dragon to have members who are ill to stay home and get the medical treatment necessary to return them to good health before returning to Purple Dragon classes. This is to aid in their recovery as well as protect other from contracting any contagious illnesses. With the recent outbreak of the highly contagious COV19 virous we feel it important to reiterate this policy and include further guide...lines to help insure the health of our valued members. Please read below. We ask that parents, guardians and helpers assist us by making sure all students wash their hands with soap and water or sanitize their hands with hand sanitizer prior to their lesson every time they arrive at the dojo. All children need to cross the parking lot wearing footwear. Your student’s feet need to be clean-just like their hands! Germs can and do get carried on people’s feet! If your child has been sick in the past 24 hours, please do not bring them to the Dojo. If a child is deemed to ill to participate the parent or guardian will be contacted by staff to take the child home and only return when well. Please do not send sick siblings to the Dojo, even if they will be staying in the lobby or the waiting area. Children must be free from fever, without the aid of medication for a minimum of 24 hours before attending classes If you or your child display the following symptoms, please do not come or bring them to class, or if a member displays symptoms after arriving, the staff will ask the member or the child’s guardian to please take the child home and return when well. Symptoms requiring removal of child from school: Fever: Fever is defined as having a temperature of 100F or higher taken under the arm, 101F taken orally Diarrhea Vomiting: 2 or more times in a 24-hour period. Note: please do not bring your child if they have vomited in the night. Breathing trouble, sore throat, swollen glands, loss of voice Hacking or continuous coughing Runny nose, draining eyes or ears. Frequent scratching of body or scalp, lice, rash, or any other spots that resemble childhood diseases, including ringworm. Child is irritable, continuously crying, or requires more attention than we can provide without hurting the health, safety or well-being of the other children in our care. Your cooperation on this issue is extremely important. Sick children expose all children and staff members who they encounter. These people can in turn expose the other children. Please help us keep our students and staff healthy. Purple Dragon Management
