Happy feast of St. Thomas Aquinas! A wonderful saint of deep love for God, learning and wisdom--and, practical common sense. P.S. In the dark and cold of midwinter, our Dominican "big brother" also proffers some relevant wisdom: I-II Q. 38 A. 5. Enjoy!

A blessed Epiphany to you all! This is the beautiful hymn we sing at Compline throughout the Christmas Season: Of the Father's Love Begotten. God bless! Lyrics:... Of the Father's love begotten 'ere the worlds began to be, He is Alpha and Omega, He the Source, the ending He, of the things that are, that have been, and that future years shall see, evermore and evermore. This is He whom seers in old time chanted of with one accord, whom the voices of the prophets promised in their faithful word; now He shines, the long-expected; let creation praise its Lord, evermore and evermore. Christ, to thee, with God and Father, and, O Holy Ghost, to thee, hymn and chant and high thanksgiving and unwearied praises be, honor, glory, and dominion and eternal victory, evermore and evermore!

Happy Gaudete Sunday! We're excited to share with you our community's newsletter, which includes Christmas greetings for you and a reflection on the meaning of hope in the midst of this ongoing pandemic. As public gatherings and worship services (including Mass) remain suspended in our region to keep the most vulnerable among us safe, please be assured of our prayers for you and your loved ones. As we sing in the Lucenarium on Sundays throughout Advent: "O Prince of Peace, 'God with us' who renew all things, heavenly dew, come and refresh our hearts; pour upon the universe your peace like a river." God bless. English newsletter: https://tinyurl.com/autumn2020englishqop French newsletter: https://tinyurl.com/autumn2020frenchqop

Here is the surprise! Please join us this upcoming Saturday for the live stream Mass of Sr. Marie Étienne's first profession of vows. If you click the link below, it will take you to the event page on Youtube, which we've found has better audio quality: https://youtu.be/10hkMQym4eo If you stay tuned here over the next few days, we plan to upload Sr. Marie Étienne’s profession program. In our tests of the live stream, the audio is a good volume, but there are still occasiona...l glitches and visual blurriness. As best we can figure out, it is due to our wilderness internet connectionperhaps sometimes a bobcat wanders between receivers? We suggest that you print or download the program so that you can follow along even through any possible hiccups. In the meantime, please continue to pray for Sr. Marie Étienne as she is on retreat before the big day. See more

As many of you may know, the Upper Squamish Valley suffered from a wildfire during the Easter Octave. After being evacuated, we returned home safe and sound to find our monastery unharmed. However, not everyone was so fortunate. Please pray for our neighbours and community, especially those who have lost their homes. Thanks be to God, no lives were lost. Here are some of our prioress's thoughts on the fire, as shared with our local paper: https://www.squamishchief.com//a-pan...demic-and-fire-a-squam The photo below is looking across our southmost field to where one arm of the fire crested the ridge.
