The Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association, along with 11 other BIDs from across Nova Scotia, have come together to ask the Government of Nova Scotia for immediate attention and assistance so our members can persevere in the next months and, very importantly, can both see and plan for their place in a prosperous post-pandemic Nova Scotia. . Main street small businesses continue to bear the brunt of the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions which... are needed to maintain public safety. Further short-term assistance is urgently needed to sustain businesses at this late stage. . It is also imperative for our members that, with haste, the Nova Scotia government produce and make public an economic recovery plan with an accompanying timeline and coordinated programs focused on recovery for our downtowns and main streets. . In short, our small businesses are calling for the Government of Nova Scotia to: 1. Increase and extend the Small Business Impact Grant Part 3. 2. Share a timeline of loosening restrictions that are tied to health benchmarks. 3. Create programs focused on recovery for our downtowns and main streets. . The business community stands ready to assist in this. . READ FULL LETTER: https://bit.ly/3oycK1C . Over the weekend, we delivered amaryllis plants to all the businesses on Quinpool Road who helped us add some greenery and colour to the street this past summer; by adopting one of our large planters, did their own planting or a combo of both. The great thing about an amaryllis, is that they will spend the winter inside and then they can be replanted outside next spring! A special thanks to Jena (last picture), Roxanna and the entire team at Flower Trends Florists for puttin...g ribbons in each planter that reflected the logo colour of all 21 businesses selected for the 2020 Get Growing awards. Also, thanks to Courtney Quinn, Garrison Brewing Co. and Board Member Glenna Brown of Killam Apartments for assisting with the deliveries of the amaryllis plants Athens Restaurant Alex Blue Olive Greek Taverna Blake Charcoal Marketing - Mike Cheeky Neighbour Diner Dilly Dally Eats Chef Ray Henry East Coast Bakery Gerry East Peak Climbing Nikki and Veronica Freeman's Little New York - Erin Gary Burrill, MLA Heartwood Carina and Ava Juice Press Inc - Tiffany Liberty Tax Canada Gerri The Other Bean Sandwich Shop Steve The Oxford Taproom Brian and Courtney The Paint Shop Alyssa Song's Korean Restaurant - Young-Jong Starbucks Quinpool Road - Gab and Melizza Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio and Health Centre Abra and Angela The Trail Shop - Virginia Tim Hortons/ Cold Stone Quinpool Rd.
