I wanted to one last time give out a big THANK YOU to all our sponsors and volunteers: The Grossart family at Howpark Farms for the amazing views, without the use of their property the 25km just wouldnt be the same. And the rest of our volunteers: Ryan the bright orange hype man, and my favorite person Nicole for going out taking pics of the 25km competitors before running her own 10km (crushed it, Scott for hiking the entire 25km to take down markers, my Parents for keeping the bathrooms sanitized and Darren for helping out with timing! Alright everyone just trying to get the final results sorted. I know there were some issues with one sections course marking by the blue car that from my research 7 people missed. That is on me and I am terribly sorry as course marking is a HUGE pet peeve of mine if not done right. It fortunately didnt change any of the top 3 and I know you all worked hard out there, its a grueling course. With that being said I cant give an official time as it would not be right with the course short. I hope you all understand. Next year I will work on improving that!! Kristian

Check your email as there is an updated waiver form that must be printed off and signed the date of the event, along with a second email that has all the race day information you need to make things run smooth. Just a heads up, both the trails labeled as the spine and the grand downhill on the trailforks app are closed without permission to use, so if you plan on scouting the course DO NOT use these trails without prior permission.

Just a heads up, the 25km distance is currently SOLD OUT - there is a waitlist but with current guidelines we have entrants capped at 45 per distance. There are still spots open in the 10 and 5km events!

Getting things organized for the event! Color coded race bibs for each distance... so if you forget which flags you are supposed to follow, just match them to the color on your bib! Also Gordon Sokolosky has shown me some updates for the 25km top three Male/Female finisher trophies. The work so far looks AMAZING and very much unique to the Brandon Hills. Hi Everyone! PLEASE READ THROUGH With the government allowing outdoor gatherings of up to 50 people, it appears as though the race will be a go July 11, with some changes to the start times, format and capacity of the event. ... First off the start times will be changed: 25km - bib pickup will start at 0800 with race commencing at 0900. 10km - bib pickup will start at 0915 with race commencing at 1000 5km - bib pickup will start at 1015 with race commencing at 1100. Second: We will still be providing water at an aid station for the 25km runners but nutrition will have to be self supplied. Third: The number for each distance is capped at 45 people, with the start times staggered as above to keep everyone spread over a large area for social distancing. Fourth: All social distancing measures will have to be followed as per provincial guidelines at all times. With that in mind there will be no spectators allowed at the event to keep numbers down, and unfortunately no gathering after the event. Fifth: Prior to the event we will be sending out a screening forum that MUST be filled out associated with COVID-19 if you want to participate. If you are in any way sick, do not attend and a refund will be given. Sixth: If ANYONE is concerned about attending the event please let me know. I very much understand the concern. Refunds will be awarded to those that do not want to attend because of this, but you must let me know ASAP (June 12th at the latest). This is the reality we will be living in for a while, we are doing our best to safely adapt to the environment. Seventh: All of this still has the potential to change depending on the provincial guidelines in the weeks to come. Eight: At this time Manitoba requires anyone entering the province to self-isolate for 14 days. Due to this it is recommended those from out-of-province not sign up, as it may have to be a Manitoba only event. For those already registered from out-of-province we will continue to monitor and if those rules are still in place refunds will be given. With all this being said I am very excited to be hosting the event, we have to remember the importance of physical and mental health through all of this as well. Hello fellow trail runners! I hope you are all staying safe, social distancing and still getting your outdoor adventure and training in. Obviously the Manitoba government has made some changes to reopen the economy which is promising, but of course we are not out of the woods yet. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still watching to see how things evolve with no change in the date as of yet, we are still hoping for July 11.... When we have some more concrete details everyone will be informed, and are looking into screening protocols etc to help ensure participant safety. On a positive note, the trail conditions in the Brandon Hills are fantastic, and the Westman Trails Association are doing a fantastic job with maintenance! I ran the vast majority of the 25km course two weeks ago and it was in excellent shape! Stay tuned, Kristian

Things are drying up nice and some solid work has been done for trail maintenance already! I had sent out an email a few weeks ago regarding regarding the status of the race. As of right now still hoping July 11 will be possible, but sounds like we should have permit approval for Sunday Sept. 27 as a postponement date if needed. Please if anyone has questions or concerns about the status of this, let me know! Kristian

At this point we still are still planning for July 11 as the event date and will be sticking with that for now. BUT if social distancing guidelines are still in place the planned date for rescheduling will be Sunday Sept. 27th, so people can save the date. Again if the date does have to be moved, those who cannot make Sept.27 can have their entry refunded minus service fees, or deferred until next year!

Hi folks, I know there is a LOT on the go right now with COVID-19, with uncertainty in both our event schedules and this crazy thing called life. 25km course map with >500m of elevation gain, pretty solid for the prairies! This route covers pretty much the entire Brandon Hills and all the unique features it has to offer. If there is enough interest may look at making a two loop 50km ultra distance next year.
