With deep regret and, sadness once again I have to announce that Rackem Jack will be halting business operations while in the red zone starting monday December 14th 2020. MESSAGE TO ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS! we will be suspending play until further notice effective immediately. The red zone lasts for 28 days minimum from what I am told so, we will see where we stand at that point. All funds are safe and, will always be returned even in worse case scenario. We will put a pause on pl...ay and, not panic to quickly and, hope we can resume shortly. Hello everyone!! As I write this message this evening, I would like to point out that I've always been one to believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion just as I have my own. This is what makes this country and, every other free country so great up until this point that is! We can all agree that we are living and, experiencing something in history that is unprecedented whether you believe that's the pandemic or, what the pandemic is being used for and, everyon...e has their own feelings surrounding these issues. Like everything, it will come to a head in one way or, another and, everyone will get to see what's really going on at some point even if it's to late. With that being said, I regret to inform everyone that as of Monday November 23, 2020 once again!!!!!! we small business owners get to have our right of putting food on our tables and, paying bills shoved aside because of rules that are not justified, lawful or, rightful for everyone. Rackem like many small, to mid sized businesses that I will go without naming as I speak for myself only!!!! will once again suffer the effects of more rules and, will now be closing at 10 PM each night and, not serving alcohol after 9 PM due to new measures and, unlawful rules being put in place by our government. On top of these rules, masks will also have to be worn at ALL times now except while eating and, while taking a drink. After the goverment allows you to take a sip you will then be required to slip your face covering back up until the next drink. We will be following the guidlines and, like so many we have been already trying our best to follow safety measures. In my case I've never even started to allow 50 people indoors and, have limited it to around 35 along with closing 2 pooltables full time as well as having already shortened hours before it was so called MANDATORY, cutting already strained revenue just to comply to keep some people happy and, am just trying to keep in business under restrictions that are killing all of us. This is all happening to the small and, middle sized businesses while the monopolies, conglomerates and, big boys get to rage on like always and, continue getting richer. I've always believed that you dont take from one side to give to the other. This is well passed anything to do with a pandemic or, safety when you see this happening. Sorry for any inconvenience and, hope these recent restrictions do not detour from coming. I guess it really will be the little guys that help stop the spread if it's even real that is.....cause it's obviously not gonna be the BIG business as they get to run a muck!! Message for all customers: We ask upon entry to come straight up to the service counter as we have to monitor the amount of people within the hall. We will have a sanitizing station set up as you walk in and will have sanitizer around hall. We also will be giving you the bar cues as needed from the counter, as they have to be cleaned after each use. Here at Rackem we have developed such a great playing atmosphere that alot of our regulars are so comfortable that they hop skip... around playing one another on different tables in a rotation. During these times with restrictions and, distancing we are not going to be able to allow this until things ease. We are limiting groups that come in together to 4 people and, ask they follow all covid 19 distancing restrictions from other patrons in the hall. The groups of 4 will only be if it is possible to keep safe distance depending on how many people are already playing when a group of 4 come in. Due to restrictions on the restaurant/bar industry we also ask that while consuming beverages you please stay seated as this is mandatory at these times. You are not permitted to walk around drinking from table to table. Traveling from table to table to socialize is also off limits due to distancing at this time. Kinda have to play and, stay in your bubble around your table in the short term. Unfortunately as uncomfortable as some may be, while these restrictions are in place, we are going to have to follow these rules in order to stay open in the longterm when we can resume normalisy within all establishments. We would like to announce that the projected opening date will be Friday july 24th, 2020. I ask during these times while many restrictions are in place, that everyone please give their best efforts in following all rules that will be in place due to the covid 19 restrictions. Patients and, understanding will go along way in helping get through these times. Due to restrictions, we will not be able to use all pooltables as we have to maintain a safe distancining so, we ask for ...your understanding as we may have to turn some customers away if we reach our limit on the amount of people in at end time. Due to the distancing and, number of people in at one time, league nights will only consist of league players and, will not be able to have the public in at these times. We do apologize ahead for this and, hope these restrictions come to an end sooner then later. Our tables will be rented on a first come, first serve basis and, we will not be allowing large groups in together at this time. Please understand that even if it looks as though there are empty tables that this may not be the case. It just means we are keeping a safe distance between people and, must keep certain tables closed. We are serving food like always in house and, takeout as well. Please take note of our temporary change in hours of operation while restrictions are in place. These hours will return to normal once restrictions are lifted. Due to limits on how many tables we are able to have in use, our all you can play flat rate pool will be suspended at this time until we are able to open up to full compacity. We pride ourselves on offering the best deal around but, cannot maintain operations under restrictions using this framework. Temporarily, the flat rate price of $9.05 per player will cover you for a 2 hour maximum at which time if you would like to keep playing you can pay for more time. Each additional hour is $7.75 per player. If you only want 1 hour it will be 7.75 per player Note: payment for pool will be up front when you choose how long you would like to play for. Still fantastic prices at these rates!!! Would like to point out that NONE of our food or, drink prices have been raised and, are still amongst the best in town. Asking all pool league team captains to contact their team members immediately. We will be restarting league play on Tuesday August 4th and, Wednesday August 5th 2020. This will allow time to rally the troops to bring a finish to our interrupted season. SHORT TERM CHANGES AND, COMPLIANCE UNTIL GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS ARE RELAXED REGARDING DISTANCING:... *Play will start at 7pm instead of 7:30 *match play will be played on 1 table instead of 2 in order to maintain distance in compliance to the government restrictions. *no handshakes just verbal congradulations upon victories. *one designated player who will wear gloves will collect all balls and, rack the balls for each match so there is as little physical contact with the balls as possible. *captains need to make sure their players are ready to play when they are called upon as we are using only 1 table per match and, we want it to run as smooth as possible. Should be no problems making sure your players are ready since there is only 1 game playing at a time. Due to the circumstances of finishing this pool season we will not be having the annual summer pool league and, will just signup teams for next fall session that will start in November. There will be a few changes to league play in the short term in order to follow provincial restrictions. All league team prizes will be paid at the completion of this season that restarts August 4th and, 5th 2020. We ask at this time for patience and, understanding as we navigate through all obstacles caused by this virus so we can finish this pool season and start fresh in the fall. HELLO ALL MY POOL BROTHERS, SISTERS AND, WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS! I know everyone is going pool crazy as I've had plenty of feed back from people saying they cant wait to get back! I'm just writing to say that RACK'EM JACK will be ready to give that billiard fix that everyone is waiting for. When it is deemed safe and, legal for us to reopen in full we will, all while still providing that clean, safe, friendly environment with the organized billiard service we have all come to... know and, love at Rack'em Jack. NOTE TO ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS: The current league season is ready to resume when we are able to. I ask if possible, that all captains and, team members start calling and, messaging one another to reconnect as I will be resuming play for 8 ball and, 9 ball leagues as fast as possible to finish out the current season we were in once business resumes in full. When I get the green light to open, I will make an announcement on the page including a captains meeting date and, time to discuss a restart date for league play and, some details involving league. There will be other announcements as well to do with safety measures moving forward as well as, player handicaps moving into next winter season at that time. I do plan on still hosting CPA MONDAY NIGHT LEAGUE as well. Information on the continuation for that league would come from Craig Misener once I am able to let him know I can resume business. UPDATE!! Hello everyone!! I hope everybody is staying healthy and, safe through these trying times Just wanted to say Rackem Jack is still waiting to be able to open again when things, are safe and, legally able to.... SO NO FEAR, RACKEM WILL BE HERE!!! There will be contingency plans to allow for the continuation and, completion of all leagues that were disrupted based on how far into spring/summer this may last. On the positive side, going into this virus we had already filled our summer league which was astonishing to do so, so quickly and, early in the year! THANKYOU AGAIN FOR THE SUPPORT! with alot of NEW teams being created it was looking real interesting. With any luck we will be able to have some kind of finish to the interrupted winter league we were in and, still salvage the summer league in some fashion. Either way, with all you poolhall junkies going crazy without being able to play, I'm sure we will all enjoy being back in action soon!! Oh yeah.....we have not thrown in the towel on the 5th annual rackem jack 8 ball championships that was filled in record time and, was to take place at the end of March. As everyone knows by now, alot of small businesses are now shutdown including myself here at Rackem. With no telling when we will be able to restart operations I'm am now announcing the cancellation of our 5th anniversary Rackem Jack 8 Ball City Championships This is an event that has grown in popularity every year I've been in op...eration as it fill in record time faster every year! To all who have entered, I will keep you updated on a rescheduled date for our championship if that is a possibility. Same still goes for all of our leagues. UPDATE STATEMENT Hello everyone! My name is Greg Johnson, some but, not all may know me as owner and, operator of Rackem Jack Billiards. First and, formost I want to wish everyone well in this time of crisis as we all have alot to worry about. I've been in business now into my 6th year, never expecting something like this. I want to assure all of our customers I plan on following through and, waiting things out even if the province does a mandatory shutdown which has not happ...ened as of yet in orillia. I am closed however tonight( Monday, march 16 2020) As I open on mondays for CPA league which has done a nation wide cancellation. I want to express my thanks and, appreciation to everyone of my businesses customers and, supporters and, ask for patients through these times. I will give updates on league schedule changes and, hours of operation changes as needed and, hope all understand going forward. Rest assure I will be doing everything in my power to keep pool alive and, well in orillia as this is what I've always wanted to do, it's been apart of my life forever. Regardless of what happens with pool league season, all monies will be paid out if things reach a grim state. I want to be clear, Rackem isnt going anywhere even if there is a shutdown.
