Received a beautiful new song in my inbox this AM from my friend @rachelsermanni, and it took me back to a favourite and most memorable day of recording up @cypressmtn. We spent close to three hours snowshoeing with a handful of @ribbonmics and a @nagraaudio VI, and at one point didn’t think we’d make it to the cabin. After an hour of digging out the door, we managed to light a fire and sneak in a few tunes before nightfall. Whoa. Bad day for vinyl. Fire at the Apollo/Transco factory today, and apparently a total loss. Apollo was one of two suppliers worldwide of master lacquers for vinyl manufacturing. Hard to know to what extent, but this will have a significant impact on an already painfully slow process. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire.

Thrilled to have been a part of this project.

Ultimately, mixing is about heart -- nobody leaves a session dancing to what kind of gear you used. -Ed Cherney RIP
