Members of Headquarters Squadron (Sqn), Royal Canadian Dragoons deployed for the week of 28 September 2 October for the conduct of Ex WALKING DRAGOON. The aim of the exercise was to conduct Battle Tasks Standards at levels 2 3 in order to prepare for further collective training and to begin force generating for the deployment of the enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group (BG) Roto 15 TF WOLVERINE. As the first field deployment for the Sqn since the beginning of the COVI...D-19 pandemic, focus was placed on ensuring that the Sqn could again survive and thrive in a field environment while learning how to operate and conduct tactical operations while maintaining force health protection measures. In the photo above, Transport Troop, led by Captain Avery Burke and Warrant Officer Chad Monaghan can be seen conducting a BG level commodity point on the mattawa plain in the Petawawa Range Training Area where the B Sqn and D Sqn echelons were able to roll through to be topped-up prior to them continuing on to the next phase of the exercise. And this brings C sqn to the end of Ex Centurion Archer II. This level 2 dynamic range taught and tested our leopard 2 crewman and allowed us to get in that high value training.We've watched the members conduct hides, we've seen them cam and conceal their vehicles and of course, we've seen them do what they so best. And now, with this range under their belt they are ready to go home and relax for the weekend. Thanks to everyone for following along on this short 2 week journey! Bold and swift! Adsum!
