UPDATE From Energy Safety Canada
UPDATE From Canadian Red Cross: Canadian Red Cross is aware that in person course cancellations due to COVID-19 precautionary measures and closures and will have an impact on those requiring to maintain their certifications. Red Cross has worked with workplace health and safety regulators to offer support to those who have certifications that will expire in the next months. All Red Cross first aid certifications (which would have expired March through June 30, 2020) will be considered valid 90-days beyond their expiry date. These certifications will also be accepted for those taking recertification courses when in-person training resumes.
UPDATE From Heart & Stroke Foundation: Heart & Stroke has issued new interim guidance for the Training Network to address questions regarding extensions for Heart & Stroke Instructor and Provider Cards during the COVID-19 outbreak. Please review below. Q: Does Heart & Stroke have a grace period for their provider and instructor certifications?... A: Yes. In these exceptional times, Heart & Stroke will allow grace periods for different circumstances as outlined below. These temporary measures are meant to put you and the health of our community first, as well as supporting and alleviating pressures on health care professionals and our health care system. Please note timelines may be extended based on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. Q: My Heart & Stroke completion card is expiring or has just expired. A: All Heart & Stroke completion cards expiring between March 2020 through May 2020 will be considered valid for entry into Heart & Stroke renewal courses of the same discipline until July 31, 2020. Note BLS pre-requisites must still be adhered to for ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and ACLS EP Q: I require a current Heart & Stroke completion card for work. A: Heart & Stroke strongly recommends that employers and regulatory bodies consider extending recognition of Heart & Stroke instructor and provider certifications as outlined above, however, ultimately, this will be the decision of those employers and regulatory bodies.
URGENT!! RCM will be closing our doors to walk-in traffic until further notice. This means that ALL TRAINING IS CANCELLED. This decision is being made in accordance to our training partners/affiliates and Government of Saskatchewan guidelines. We will try and post updates regarding certifications that may expire during this time and directions that can assist people in the meantime.... Please take care and be kind to one another!
