As this week closes, I am taking a moment to speak of something sweet: One of the highlights here is meeting Kim. This week would not have been successful without her. Even though she is new to me and the salon, she is certainly not new to the industry! She had worked all of five days in the salon before the announcement of the new restrictions. I’m am blessed beyond measure at how she came forward put all her skills to work. All week I have been in awe and gratitude to reall...y witness her talents and skills, she stepped into her own in the salon space and really settled in. My heart goes out to everyone, we are all affected by Covid-19, and we are all in this together while remain physically distant. This is a beautiful opportunity to explore connecting beyond the physical, I’m aware that it’s not the same as a hug from a loved one on Christmas Day, but this is where we are collectively at at this time. A few days a ago when I took this picture, the salon was slated to be open through the Christmas holidays. I imagine many of us have seen the recent updates from the Alberta government, and know that this is not so. I have been in a rollercoaster of emotions. I have been filled with so much joy to meet with clients this week. I’m also filled with so much sadness that there are still many I won’t see before the new year. In respecting the pause that is being asked for in our ...daily activities, I am taking a moment to thank you all for all the support and care I received from each of you this year. Many great things happened this year as well as some deep lows. I am grateful that each of you welcomes me into your life. I’m excited that when we can, we will continue to connect and share with each other once again in the salon.
