Anyone interested in a beginner rock climbing trip with the @greatplainsacc this spring. Destination Beautiful British Columbia.
Where do you want to climb this summer/fall? When? Maybe we can nudge our friends at the #greatplainsacc to plan some trips. Let us know in the comment section.
It might STILL be winter outside but the new set is hot at RCC.
Holiday hours. Closed Friday April 15th. Open Saturday and Sunday 10am til 5pm.
Who let Dray set corner routes??? Looks SPICY
Like just about everyone it seems, the set team has recovered from Covid and is pumped to be back at it. Why were the raspberries the first thing we grabbed?!?!?!
12 Days of Climbing might leave you a little sore. Who knows maybe you will win a healing session with Kendra Kembel and she will make you right as rain (whatever that means).
The prizes in the 12 Days of Climbing keep getting better and better. Check out what Lexi Obey can do! Not only will you see her hands crushing everything our setters throw at her but in her off time she does amazing bead work. We have tried hard to create multicultural community at RCC and hope we have created a safe place for everyone to thrive. The RCC is on Treaty 4 Territory. Treaty 4 Territory is homeland to the Saulteaux, Cree, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota and Métis people. We are so fortunate to be a part of and learning about these amazing cultures.
Wow! What a community! Huge shout out to our friends at @flashedclimbing for supporting our 12 days of Climbing. Like you, we are trying to shop local too. Did you know Flashed is Canadian as is their sister company Binary whose holds you often climb at RCC. Get those entries in, the amount of stuff we are giving away is getting ridiculous!
Ever watch Free Solo and think there is no way I would do that without a rope. We got you! In our 12 days of climbing we are giving a away a 70m Boa Eco from our friends at @team_edelrid. Not only is it one of the the most eco friendly ropes on the market but it pulls awesome through a belay device and is really well reviewed.
Did you know Joel Frohman is not only super lucky and won a pair of La Sportiva shoes last month but he is also an amazing potter. His pottery has gone all over the world and he gave us a couple of RCC inspired mugs to give away in the 12 days of Climbing. So if you want to take your pinch strength to the next level start with your morning coffee. Get your entry into the draw by getting something at the RCC pro shop, buy someone (or yourself) a gift certificate at climbingcentre.ca and get 2 entries or extend your membership a year for 4 entries. We appreciate you buying your gear with us... shop local.
Interesting article. FYI we are in the 1/3 that believe we will still be around post Covid. We have an amazing community and we, as owners of the gym, feel obliged to care for this facility. The article nailed it, it’s more than a business to us. It is where we climb/laugh/sweat/bleed/fall/fail/succeed with our friends. We will figure this thing out whatever they throw at us.
What’s gonna be in the box? Any guesses?
Is this how you trim your toenails? We will have some big news in the next few days
A few spots are open if you wanted to climb this weekend including a new Sunday 10am spot for members. There are a couple of scary new auto belay routes to boot. You can book it at climbingcentre.ca or give us a call. Happy Halloween everyone!
Check out your new chalk bag! You know you want it!
