Talvez nós poderemos andar com as nossas próprias pernas e comer com nossas bocas. Talvez teremos outros sentidos que não podemos entender agora. O primeiro retrucou: - Isto é um absurdo. O cordão umbilical nos fornece nutrição e tudo o mais de que precisamos. O cordão umbilical é muito curto. A vida após o parto está fora de cogitação. O segundo insistiu: - Bem, eu acho que há alguma coisa e talvez seja diferente do que é aqui. Talvez a gente não vá mais precisar deste tubo físico. O primeiro contestou: - Bobagem, e além disso, se há realmente vida após o parto, então, por que ninguém jamais voltou de lá? - Bem, eu não sei, disse o segundo, mas certamente vamos encontrar a Mamãe e ela vai cuidar de nós. O primeiro respondeu: - Mamãe? Você realmente acredita em Mamãe? Isto é ridículo. Se a Mamãe existe, então, onde ela está agora? O segundo disse: - Ela está ao nosso redor. Estamos cercados por ela. Nós somos dela. É nela que vivemos. Sem ela este mundo não seria e não poderia existir. Disse o primeiro: - Bem, eu não posso vê-la, então, é lógico que ela não existe. Ao que o segundo respondeu: - Às vezes, quando você está em silêncio, se você se concentrar e realmente ouvir, você poderá perceber a presença dela e ouvir sua voz amorosa." Este foi o modo pelo qual um escritor húngaro explicou a existência de Deus. Um dos textos mais lindos que já li. Quem leu até o final dê um UP. :) <3

Today’s reflection is really good, If you have time it is really worth the read. It speaks to the phenomenon we are seeing in political Christians today. One God of the Earth Wednesday, November 25, 2020... One way that our growth in love becomes stuck is when we identify so much with our group or country that it replaces our faith in the One God of all. As we see in politics in the United States, most people only know how to love people who are like themselves with regard to their race, their nationality, their religion, or their political party. Thomas Merton especially warned about the phenomenon we know in our day as Christian nationalism. When belief in country and religion merge as one, the alternative way of Jesus takes a back seat. I invite you to read Merton’s challenging words with willing mind and heart: A Christian nationalist is one whose Christianity takes second place, and serves to justify a patriotism in whose eyes the nation can do no wrong. In such a case, it becomes Christian faith and Christian heroism to renounce even one’s Christian protest and to obey the dictates of the (unchristian) Nation without question. Instead of that Christian independence which realizes that the Nation itself may come under the higher judgment of God, there arises the notion of a Christian obedience in which the faithful are urged to accept the national purpose on the justification of any and every means. They renounce all judgment and choice in order to follow secular authority blindly since the Government knows best.. . .
