Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association 11.01.2021

On behalf of the Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association, we wanted to thank Applewood Nissan Richmond for being a part of the Bauer First Shift Welcome Event - @firstshifthockey1 The NHL/NHLPA FIRST SHIFT program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. We want families to experience the game at its best to understand why so many Canadians feel an inherent love for the sport and stimulate a desire for continued participation.... The Richmond Jets have been running the First Shift event for a number of years, and it was in jeopardy this year with the challenges we all face, but thanks to the generosity of Applewood Nissan, we were able to have a successful, safe event. The drive-thru concept worked great and went off without a hitch. The Applewood team was very accommodating, and Amber Kovich did a wonderful job organizing the event, along with the Bauer Hockey First Shift team. One of our main goals as a youth sports organization is to grow the game, be inclusive and involve the community. Teaming up with local Richmond businesses like Applewood Nissan helps us achieve this goal, and it was great to see the families' excitement as they received their equipment. We look forward to seeing them on the ice in the coming weeks as they begin their journey in the great sport of hockey. Thanks again for hosting us and providing a great facility, and we look forward to teaming up with Applewood Nissan again in the future. #richmondjets #firstshift #applewoodnissanrichmond

Coach Simon Beglau from U13C5 makes the ultimate shooting target! 1 old milk crate, a wood saw some cutting & sanding, and a couple of 6' bungee cords. The cord easily clips on the netting just behind the posts. It's rigid and nothing has broken yet! #richmondjets #diyhockeytargets

We Are Back For 2020/21, But We Need Your Help! Last year was our inaugural year for the Richmond Jets Pink T-Shirt initiative. The program was a resounding success, and we had great help from the Richmond Sunrise Rotary Club in getting this program off the ground. We distributed 1,100 t-shirts and together with team donations, our efforts raised $2828 for the Kids Help Phone. We Need Your Help!... This year we are looking forward to having another great Pink T-Shirt campaign, and we look forward to continuing our support for the Kids Help Phone. You can help by getting your team to participate in this amazing program. The t-shirts are ONLY $10 and net proceeds will be going to the Kids Help Phone. You can order t-shirts for your whole family too! But don't delay as last year we had a few people that missed the order deadline. You can help by getting your team to participate in this amazing program. 1. Order your t-shirt via your Team Manager. 2. Pay individually, or order as a team. 3. Team Manager places team order by Jan 20th. T-Shirt Sizing & Order Info: https://richmondjetsmha.com/pink-t-shirt-day/ Share this post and help spread the word!
