My mom put on one of my hats and just started rocking it! We came out to Canmore this weekend to surprise my mom with a birthday weekend away and we truly got her! She had now idea. We went around yesterday and got to see every season imaginable. Snow storm, rain, falling leaves and sunshine. My mother and I have such a close relationship and bond and I love her so much!! She truly is an amazing woman, caring, selfless, poised and knows how to have a laugh!! I’m honoured to be her daughter and to be able to call her my mamma. I don’t often find time to take photos of my own family but it was nice to grab a few of her yesterday, I will cherish these photos forever. It’s important to capture moments of loved ones. Also, can you believe she turned 71!?!? She’s a stunner

Out in Canmore this weekend! Out of the office this weekend I should say.. we are celebrating my moms 71st birthday this weekend!! We tricked her and told her we were all too busy to take a weekend away so we were only going for a late lunch in Canmore.. then took a suitcase out and surprised her and she was so confused hahaha!! It was adorable and I am really looking forward to this weekend away spent with family and celebrating my wonderful mother. I will be answering emails here or there but if you haven’t heard back from me, you will come Monday! (also announcing fall minis later today so stay posted on my stories)

These two went through obstacle after obstacle and this pandemic was no exception. To them it was just one more obstacle to work through to me married. With numerous plans and adjustments to their original day, I am happy to say, these two got to say I do yesterday! First of all, this dip is everything. Secondly, I honestly still can’t believe I get to do this, what I love to do. Capturing peoples love, emotion and connection in a form of art. A photo. A photo that will last forever and that will bring you back to that moment, that feeling. This month has been a bit crazy and I have felt a bit overwhelmed more than once but it’s these amazing clients I have that make the long nights, tiring days and grinding worth it! You guys revive me, keep me dreaming, keep me creating and keep me constantly inspired by how unique and wonderful each and everyone of you are Thank you for believing in my creativeness and art, thank you for choosing and trusting me.

Let me walk you through their day.. It all started with getting ready, anticipation, excitement and waiting as the hours melted away to the big event of I do Natalya shared an emotional first look with her dad followed by a equally emotional and romantic first look with her husband to be. Their ceremony was moving. I hid my tears behind my camera as I captured them singing and praising. Their love for god poured from them as they worshiped, accompanied by their guests who a...ll stood behind them. This was so emotional and beautiful. I had never witnessed something like this at a wedding ceremony and I left hoping I’d see more couples do this in the future. Her dad officiated the ceremony, got to marry off his little girl. N&S said their I do’s sealed it with a kiss and celebrated into the evening. Their reception was florals galore and I got to witness speeches that let me get to know the couple even better than before. They even got a killer sunset which is a known staple for @the.gathered swipe to the last photo to see him carry her off towards the sunset. Congratulations Natalya & Sean. Can you even believe the day has finally arrived!!? Me neither I have watched these two flourish into such an amazing partnership and they truly are such amazing individuals. They really compliment the other so well and as the years have passed, I’ve been internally routing for them since the beginning and now it’s their big day tomorrow! This weekend was going to be a busy one. With everything that’s been going on with this pandemic, a lot of couples have found ways to still say I do, but there have been couples who had to move to next year. I’ve had numerous couples move from the past couple months and the next couple months coming up. Today I would have been at the wedding for these two. Their date remains the same, just 2021 now! Intimate moments. Feeling like you can connect and "forget" that the camera is on you, is tough for some couples. Here are some tips to help you connect with your partner during a session. Talk to eachother, chatting will get your mind off being photographed and bring your attention to your partner.... Stay connected, I tell all my couples, try their best to not break the connection during their session. That means holding hands while walking, keeping eye contact when moving and just generally staying close. If you are focused on your partner you'll be less focused on me and the camera! Movement, I give prompts to keep you moving and doing things which always creates stunning candid moments and movement in an image. Last thing I want is you to be stiff and feel uncomfortable because you'll be able to see that in the photo. Be playful and silly. Be yourselves! Happy Canada Day! I usually am so hyped about celebrating this day with friends and family. You could usually find me cheering in the streets and hanging in the parks of YYC. This year is slightly different, with Covid-19, world events, social topics that cannot go without conversation and silencing. It’s definitely a different time we are living through and today I’m very happy I live here in Canada, very thankful for many things through this thick fog right now. Going to start posting on here once again but I am still listening and learning. Trying to do my part in my own way and also taking time for myself. Besides all the things happening in the world there always seems to be things happening close to home and in my own little bubble. Remember to go easy on yourself at this time because there is a lot of negativity going around right now. Gift yourself some time away from the news and socials if it all gets a little too much and remember, you aren’t the same as the next, do what you feel you can do to contribute, learn and listen in your own way.

This past weekend I got the pleasure of capturing a very important and special day for these two. Their original plan was unfortunately not possible anymore, their dream venue closed on them and they had to reschedule their big day to the following year. That didn’t stop these two from wanting to tie the knot this year and celebrate with all their original guests how they always imagined the next year. The support poured in and they quickly pulled together everything they nee...ded to be able to get married on their original date. 05.22.20 They got married in front of their nearest and dearest. Their day was romantic, rainy, intimate and straight out of a fairytale. Their venue was a special place to Leanne, a place she had many memories growing up and that quickly became the place they would call their spot, the spot they tied the knot. This beauty This fall wedding was stunning, it was a perfect day with a soft golden hue the entire time we were shooting! These two are so sweet and it was so wonderful to capture their special day. Like I had mentioned in a previous post, I will be posting some of my favourites from previous years. There are so many gems I never ended up sharing on here with you guys!! Side note, new fresh and recent content will be coming your way shortly as well! I have a few couples who are continuing with a smaller ceremony this year, so I’ll finally be back to work and it’ll feel so good

This beautiful hot weather we’ve been having is reminding me of how Calgary would usually see some pretty cold weather around this time of year. This has to be the nicest May long we’ve had in a really long time! This photo is from a beautiful fall day... when there was snow on the ground seemed fitting haha

Hands touching, rubbing and loving sometimes, (which is actually more often than I care to admit) this will come out of my mouth during a session and I just always wait a moment to see if the couple thinks I’m hilarious or if I’ve completely weirded them out hahah Someone needs to record me one day... I just blurb out random things sometimes and they tend to be really funny.
