Ryan from Pennsylvania booked this date months ago. He wanted to give the St. Lawrence a try with hopes of cracking his PB Smallie. Tagging along with him was... his buddy former NFLer Ray Yakovonis. He was a big dude! Wrapped up a new PB Smallie for Ray at 5.1 Next up was Ryan with a new PB Walleye at 9 lbs. They were pumped. 4lbers didn't even get a pic! One last drift I said at 12:15. Ryan loads up and says he thinks it's another big Walleye. NOPE. Bye Bye PB Smallie. 6 lbs on the nose on my scale. Every fish ate a Jackall Lures Chunk Craw bouncing along the bottom. I thought on the 8th day God created Erik Karlsson, nah. He created the St. Lawrence River. Did some scouting on the river last Friday for a bunch of upcoming trips we have. River looked like April conditions when we arrived but by days end it had come to life and the fish we threw at ate. The Ottawa River amazes me. #shimanokeepsyoufishing

Fishing with the next generation of anglers is always a blast. 31 anglers from a high school fishing club took to Constance Lake for the day. Lots of laughs a...nd many first fish thru the ice for these kids. I love showing younger folks a Vexilar. They understand it in 2.3 seconds! Lots of Perch, Crappie and Pike fell victim. I usually open my books to take guided trip bookings around this time of year but have to hold off for a few more weeks yet due to a few things that may effect ...my open days. I'll be there both Saturday and Sunday for Clam Corp Ice Team to answer any and all questions you ...may have about hitting the ice in Eastern Ontario.
