H7543 Senator Joseph Day has been a generous donor to the RMC Foundation since 1985. Over the past 35 years, Senator Day has provided funding to our Truth, Duty, Valour Fund, his Class Fund, Athletics, and a variety of other important projects for the Officer Cadets of the Royal Military Colleges. Senator Day also participated in the Chasse Galerie canoe trip in support of the Danny McLeod Athletics Fund over the years. A proud supporter of Cadets at the Colleges, Senator D...ay took time out of his busy schedule to welcome Cadets and Staff each year on a trip to Parliament Hill. Senator Day has been a proud guest of the Annual Legacy Dinner for all 11 years that I have managed the guest list. He was always proud to sit amongst the crowd with Cadets and his fellow ex cadets sharing his memories of the Colleges. Last week Senator Day made a generous donation to the Truth, Duty, Valour Fund which moved his lifetime giving to our Commandants Circle ($50k-$100k). Thank you Senator Day for giving back to the future leaders of Canada. We are happy to call you our friend and thankful for your continued support of our mission.

"As the current club president, I can not put into words how much the club is thankful for your support; without you we would not be able to conduct such an amazing trip. Your continued support for the RMC Sport Parachuting club has made it into one of the most applied for club at RMC, with around 120 new applicants each year. The club now has the reputation as being one of the best experiences at the college and with the continuation of our partnership, we intend on keeping... this idea going." #BecauseOfYou #Leadership #truthdutyvalour https://youtu.be/YKafpKsSol0

// Exceptionally, this year, the obstacle course and the badging ceremony on September 18 will take place privately. This follows the measures put in place to preserve the integrity of the campus and the health of our students. We thank you for your understanding and support in these difficult decisions. Even if you cannot be physically present, we invite you to follow our page to encourage the NCdts and OCdts! A video will be available, on our YouTube channel, few days after the event. You can also visit our Flickr account to see more! Since their arrival at RMC Saint-Jean last August, the OCdts and NCdts have been confined to campus and live in a closed group, like a large family. They do not wear masks when they are together but do wear one when they are in the presence of people arriving from outside the campus, in addition to keeping a distance of 2m. The site and facilities are closed to the public in order to preserve its integrity, prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the OCdts, which includes the famous annual obstacle course which marks an important milestone in their life. *pictures come from previous years, before COVID-19.

Engage for 50: the Past, the Present, and our Future "My favourite memories of Reunion Weekend have to be the Saturday ex cadet Rugby match. Besides the Obstacle Course, this is always my favourite event to shoot. The competitive nature these young (and not so young) men have on the field inspires me. I can see their determination, their drive, their sportsmanship, and more importantly their leadership. The warm up, if you will, to the annual OUA game played on home fie...ld in front of adoring fans. I sit and watch in the sea of Red Paladins gear the faces of the men and women ex cadets sharing memories with their families of their time at the Colleges. These cadets step on the field together as brothers, fathers, sons, and competitors then walk off the field as friends, allies, and mentors." Today, Cpl Brandon Liddy, RMC’s photographer, received a CDS Commendation for saving the life of a gunshot victim in Windsor, Ontario. #RMC #Valour Citation: On... 4 October 2018, Corporal Liddy witnessed a man being shot at point blank range in Windsor, Ontario. When the gunman fled, he immediately took control of the scene and proceeded with applying first aid to the multiple injuries. He first applied a tourniquet to the casualty’s right arm, dressed the remaining wounds and continued to monitor the casualty until relieved by Emergency Medical Services. Corporal Liddy’s decisive actions saved the casualty’s life and brought great credit to the Canadian Armed Forces.

On 29 April 2020 a Royal Canadian Air Force CH-148 Cyclone helicopter was deployed on HMCS Fredericton under Operation Reassurance when it crashed off the coast of Greece. Six members of the Canadian Armed Forces lost their lives in this tragic accident, four of which were ex cadets of RMC. 27268 Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough (Class of 2018, Computer Science) 23811 Capt Brenden MacDonald (Class of 2007, General Science (Chemistry)); 25075 Capt Kevin Hagen (Class of 2...011, Aeronautical Engineering); and 25516 Capt Maxime Miron-Morin (Class of 2013, Aeronautical Engineering). To honour these fallen ex cadets the RMC Foundation, in conjunction with General Bouchard and staff from RMC, have set up a memorial fund. The intent of the memorial fund will raise money for a permanent memorial at RMC for those ex cadets who lost their lives in this tragic accident. Any donations collected will be held in this memorial fund, and your name will be placed in the book of remembrance located at the memorial staircase alongside the name of the fallen ex cadet(s) you wish to memorialize.
