Forgive me for not posting lately. I've been fighting an illness and has taken me away from my computer and camera unfortunately. Fortunately though I had some energy to edit some photos I took 3 weeks ago with a friend. I'm hoping to be back in the saddle soon. In the mean time, enjoy these images I took.

Winter Guard season started up for me and my camera this past weekend with my daughter and wife in competition in Orchard Park New York. I love capturing these performers emotion on the floor. It really is amazing how much blood, sweat and tears goes into these performances every week. Having marched drum corps, being director of a winter guard for a number of years and being a guard dad and husband. I have a knack of predicting the next move. Kind of like a chess game. Very high ISO ( 6400 ), high shutter speeds ( 1/1000 of a second to freeze action ) and a wide open aperture of 2.8 are the important setting while photographing this activity known as ... 50 Point Conservation Area in Grimsby Ontario is one of my favorite locations to photograph. The sunsets are always spectacular and there's a nice foreground object to boot. #canoncanada #canonlseries #vanguardtripods
