Roots To Your Soul 21.12.2020

Stress can show up as a result of Regret Impatience Control... Doubt Judgement All of which is not actually taking place in the present moment. I’ve witnessed my mind begin to analyze experiences from my past and then create scary what-if thoughts about the future. In these moments I can feel the stress flow through my body, tensing my jaw and forming a hard pit in my stomach. Our body believes what the mind is telling it and will react as if that story is happening in the present moment even when it isn’t. Something you can do in these moments is focus your attention on your breath. Doing this will bring you back to the present space of awareness in which you are safe. Try to be accepting and non-judgemental of yourself in these moments, as doing so would only begin to create more stress within. Often these thoughts and feelings just want to be seen and heard. When you can witness them from an outside perspective you can normalize and validate your experience. Stress isn’t bad. It is there to protect you and keep you safe! Try showing yourself some love in these moments!
