We will fight for OAS because they join us in the trenches every single day in our battle to improve the welfare of animals - and we cannot afford to lose good allies in this important fight.
Who needs elf on the shelf when you have Kiki? All month Kiki has been reporting back to Santa Paws on which pets made it on the good boy/girl list. How have your pets behaved this holiday season?
Please read about our tough little Peaches
This is an ocular dermoid that was noticed on one of our young patients. A dermoid is the growth of cutaneous tissue in an abnormal place. Hair growth from the surface is common and but we will have to monitor it to assure there is no damage to the eye.
Community cats is hosting a trap-neuter-release workshop on Saturday June 23,2018 at Oshawa Animal Services. This is a great opportunity if you find a feral cat or take care of a colony of cats. This workshop will help you start the process and give you tips on taking care of these cats within the community.

A lot of times we are faced with the question "Do fractured teeth hurt?". They most certainly can. The degree of pain is related to the extent and duration of the fracture. Here you can see our patient had a fractured canine tooth and with the help of a dental radiograph we were able to visualize the extent of the damage. This tooth needed to be extracted and our patient felt much better. Don't forget, here at Rossland we offer free dental exams with our registered veterinary technicians year round!
Our third year being open is just around the corner and that means new updates! We now have in house diagnostic capability. This means we are able to get blood results on the spot!
We have had the pleasure of helping this brave patient make an excellent recovery. Pogo is now available for adoption at Oshawa Animal Services and they are taking multiple applications. Read about his story and hopefully he can find a home for the holiday season.
A mom and seven puppies are available for adoption at Oshawa Animal Services. If you have the time and commitment for a new family member check out the link below!
