Hello All! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Just a few updates for everyone as we transition into October and the last stretch of the season... Octoberfest Tournament:... The Octoberfest tournament will be held this Saturday October 3rd at noon (12 PM). The rain date is Sunday October 4th at noon. Make sure to check emails for an update about weather and what not. Turnbull Cup: Our oldest tournament, the Turnbull Cup, was played a couple of weeks ago and was won by the father/son duo of Dino and Nikolas Karatzios. Sergei and Brittany Arseneault were the runners-up. Court Watering: The afternoon watering has been turned off for the season so you can play anytime between 8 AM and 11 PM. New AED Machine: The club has acquired an AED as a precaution in case someone becomes unconscious at the club. A few members had training last night and more training may be available in the spring. For now, it is important to know that the device is inside the clubhouse in a red bag. It can be crucial as a life saving device. Even if you don’t know how to use it, please make an attempt to do so if you are on site by yourself. Just turn it on and listen to the instructions and it is quite a simple process. They will tell you everything you need to do. End of Season: The courts will be open most of October or until the lines begin to lift due to wind.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, it is really starting to feel like fall out there! A bit of a late update this week, but not much is going on this week just some news to catch up on... Our annual club dinner was a great success... despite the non-cooperative weather. The band was great, the food was delicious, and the company was even better. A big thank you to the Shadow Lawn Inn for catering and providing us with shelter from the rain, as well as a thank you to t...he Kings County River Ramblers for some awesome tunes. It is quite something that the 2020 season is nearing the end. TUESDAY NIGHT TENNIS for the 2020 Season is FINISHED. Unfortunately tonight was our last Tuesday Night tennis session... and it was not able to run due to the rain. Thank you to everyone who came out this season and to all the group leaders that volunteered their time. Club Championship... The results are in! Our Club Championship finished up this past Friday... many of you might be curious as to who placed at the top: Mens Singles: Pat Lyons Mens Doubles: Pat Lyons and Allen Olsen Womens Singles: Jen Fox Womens Doubles: Jen Fox and Sarah Barnes Mixed Doubles: Jen Fox and Mike Fox

Well it’s official, we’ve got our winners of the Thursday Night Competitive Team Tennis league. In a hard fought battle, Team Nadeau was able to squeak out a victory against Team Fox last night. Another tie-beak was needed to settle this one. In the end, Team Nadeau was just too strong, 10-5 tie-break Final. Team members include Chris Nadeau, Cade Nadeau, and THE Steve Northrup. Congrats to them and to runners-up Team Fox (Jen Fox, Steven Crabbe, and Rick Vance). ... Great season and look forward to doing it again next year!

Thursday competitive team tennis semi-finals last night saw Team 6 (Fox) v. Team 1 (Downey). Team 1 was 'down' a player as their team captain recently moved and was unavailable to play (but there in spirit!). With Club President and tennis-hungry, Nick Gresh, coming in as a replacement, things were looking up for the Downey crew. Unfortunately for them, playoff rules came into play with limitations on points earned by spares, and Team 6 was able to out-Fox the Downey Bunch... in a nail-biting 4-3 final score. In other action, Team 4 (Seely) hosted Team 5 (Nadeau). Members of Team 4 came into this one fully rested, confident, and ready for battle. Even went so far as to implement tactical strategies to limit the damage of the young and powerful Nadeau. Things, however, did not go according to plan. Nadeau's crew was fired up and ended up forcing a thrilling 10-point tie-breaker for the right to move on to the Finals. With three match points saved, the Nadeau's never-say-die mentality shined and they came out on top 13-11. Heartbroken and full of regrets, Seely's squad will have another painfully long off-season to ponder how it all went wrong... All that said, Finals are set for next Thursday (Sep 17) from 8-10pm - Fox v. Nadeau. Come one, come all. It's sure to be some great tennis! *Rain date is Sun night 6-8pm.

Way to go Cade and Cali. These two can be seen training at RTC quite often. Cade and Cali have become some one of the top players in Atlantic Canada and they have both had great seasons and we are proud to have them as part or the club. Hard work pays off. Keep up the great work.
