The ultrasound machine at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is used for a variety of exams that assist doctors in diagnosing and treating patients with a range of medical conditions. Having this type of cutting edge equipment located in the community saves people from the stress and inconvenience of travelling to other parts of the province for exams. Northern Health was able to purchase this device and complete other upgrades at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital thanks to support from the Community Investment Fund. We believe strong communities sustain us. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Community Investment Fund, PRPA is looking back at projects that embody the spirit of the fund. Since opening its doors in 1987, the Lester Centre of the Arts has been an important community gathering place in Prince Rupert. People come from all over the Northwest to see performances in the theatre, which hosts numerous special events. Through multiple Community Investment Fund contributions, this unique space has been updated with new state-of-the-art equipment.
