Well friends, the book compiled in my honour, "A Sort of Homecoming" has finally made its way across the border and arrived this morning. To say that I am delig...hted and deeply honoured would be an understatement. Marcia Boniferro, Amanda Jagt, and Andrew Stephens-Rennie have done a remarkable job in gathering together a rich company of contributors and producing this very fine book. And it is a very fine book. The theme of homecoming is, of course, not unique to me, but it has animated much of my ministry and writing. And the essays in this book creatively and imaginatively coalesce around "a sort of homecoming." Story-telling, biblical exegesis, cultural and ecclesial analysis, prose and poetry. This book has it all.
