SableWORKS is about to embark on its second construction project for an eco-effective house design project. This energy-efficient passive solar home will boast an active r-value of 40+ with double-wall constuction, R-60 roof, R-10 under-slab and fibreglass windows. Situated on the shore of the North River in Charlottetown, it is sure to bring some impressive south and westerly views! Construction begins later this month and will follow up with updates on its progress..!

11 months down; one to go! The SableWORKS crew have done an amazing job on this beautiful house and are nearing the finish line. Hats off to Rhyan, young Ian, old Ian, Craig, Jordan, Corey and Colton!! Look forward to publishing some finish shots later this summer.

The Arsenault Bros. Construction team are killing the sheetrock and mudding game. Awesome work Dustin and Jason (hanging), and Angus and Joseph (taping)!

We installed a nice shiplap ceiling finish today. (Check out that killer view!)

Were thisclose to getting the heat turned on! Thanks to Ryan and Gerard from J S Plumbing and Ryan at R Cudmore Electric for the top notch work.

We've started installing the exterior finishes. The blue siding is looking sharp!

Were getting into the finishes now and tightening up the envelope for initial air barrier tests. We perform pressure testing and thermal imaging to find any sneaky gaps we may have overlooked!

Cedar laid over 1.5" of foam still requires an air gap and drainage plan. We use Cape Cod Finished Wood Siding (from Nova Scotia), which has a pressure treated pre-made weave.

Oh these pesky thermal bridges, what to do with them? We put ThermalBuck on them is what we do! We are thrilled to be a local supplier for ThermalBuck. For info or pricing on the ThermalBuck product contact Ian or Lucas.

This pile of EPS foam, along with every other off cut from the ICF build, is going back to Thermalite for recycling. Thermalite has done a great job by starting this recycling program. We're thrilled to be using materials from suppliers that share our desire to divert construction waste from our land fills.
