Happy NAOSH week. But it’s also mental health week... this year I recommend focusing this week on creating lasting routines that benefit your mental health! Be good to yourself.
Well folks....today marks the one year anniversary of Safety First Consulting as a full time gig. I am honestly shocked that we've done this well as I fully expected it to be a part time side business. I have met the best clients, some of whom have become friends. Thank you all for trusting me and supporting me this past year. I have never been this happy (or busy) and what a place to be :) #grateful
I want this guy to teach me more things. I think he's awesome and has explained this better than anything else I've watched! (its from a couple of weeks ago and the states, but the actual info is excellent!)
This post is regarding N95, surgical and DIY masks. It’s imperative they stopped being used in public. And if you legitimately need to wear one for your occupation, then I can provide a proper fit test for the mask.
Still trying to get my name out there!
I'm so happy to announce that I've partnered with My COR Compliance to offer online training in multiple areas. We're working hard to add the curriculum, so check my website for updates. Dont worry.....I'm still offering in class training as well, just making sure we have online content for those workers who like to train in their pj's ;) www.safety1stconsulting.com
I know a lot of companies are being left high and dry with last minute course cancellations. We are operating as normal and are available for your OHS training needs. We can arrange last minute sessions for those short notice incidents. Just give us a call and we'll be happy to support your teams!

Let's all take a minute to pay tribute to those workers who were fatally injured on the job. "Safety is not something you DO, its HOW you do something" - Kim Meadows
As a health consultant, my clients are asking me about the Covid-19 virus. Here is an EXCELLENT resource that explains the corona vs flu question, why masks do NOTHING for you, why we don't need to hoard toilet paper and information from expert epidemiologists that give valid and easy to understand information related to this novel virus. I encourage you to listen sooner than later: https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/corona-virus

2020 planning has been well underway, however I'm hoping I can solicit some feedback from the FB world re: training programs. What kind of training would you like to see?....I'm looking at developing more content for Spring. Send your ideas!!!!

Exchange Rates Did you know...sound measured in decibels increases or decreases exponentially. For every 3dB that a sound increases, there's twice as much energy or power in it (its twice as 'intense'). Even though the human ear doesn't perceive the noise level to be twice as loud, its twice as hazardous or damaging!! A 3dB reduction is half as intense. This is called the 3dB exchange rate. This is why 85dBA for 8 hours is equivalent to 88dbA for 4 hours! Learn something new everyday people!!!!!! -source WorkSafe BC
WOW....my names really getting out there! Even Ikea is advertising for me ;)
