Good snowy morning! Did you get all your tender plants inside? That is pretty heavy snow - flattened all the grasses, but the 'lollipop' standard evergreen looks good!

Sagebrush Nursery 21.11.2020

What a beauty day out there! This sure is a happy frog basking in all the Okanagan sunshine today. Right beside a nice Overdam Feather Reed Grass! This is a cool season variegated grass that gets about 24 -36 inches tall and wide. Leave their foliage in place over the winter and then cut them back in early spring. Soak up the nice fall weather everyone. #sagebrushnursery #okanaganlandscaping #okanaganxeriscaping #landscapingwithgrasses #droughttolerantlandscape

Sagebrush Nursery 03.08.2020

Did you know that we have lawn seed? Not just any lawn seed of course! It is the Original Low Maintenance Lawn Seed from Wildflower Farm called Eco-Lawn and it has 5 of the finest fescue grasses that produce a healthy thick lawn with less fertilizer, less watering, less mowing. September is a great time to plant a new lawn, patch your bare spots or do a fall overseeding for a beautiful start for spring.

Do you have any water features in your garden? They can really pull together your plants and landscape design and help to create a nice little #gardengetaway. Bird baths, butterfly puddlers and other pockets of water are very helpful to our wildlife and pollinator friends. It is nice to see them getting clean, taking a drink or just slowing down and taking a quick break in all their busy-ness.

Sagebrush Nursery 11.03.2020

Looking good Caroline and Orion! We were featured in the Okanagan Valley Wide Chamber initiative #okwegotthis which highlights businesses that are open and doing their part to keep their staff and customers safe. Everyone's experience is different these days and we hope our customers and friends can take a break and find some calm space in their gardens as much as possible. Please feel free to take a walk around our nursery to enjoy the sights and sounds of our open air nursery too! Be safe everyone - we are sending you positive thoughts and we hope you have a fantastic week! #gardeningismytherapy #timeinnature #okanaganlandscaping

Sagebrush Nursery 04.03.2020

I wonder if this happens to anyone else?! The cute flower in this photo is one of our prairie asters. It is a beautiful white fall flowering perennial that brings some nice flow to the garden with its arching nature! #gardentherapy #houseworkorgardening #nativeplants #okanaganlandscaping #okanaganxeriscaping #sagebrushnursery

Sagebrush Nursery 28.02.2020

GOLDENROD! It is starting to bloom now and will give us some nice bright yellow/gold blossoms right through to October. They get about 2-4 feet tall and you will see them along roadsides, stream banks and ditches. They have an extensive root system and will tolerate wet or moist soil with full sun or part shade. #findthebeauty #colourfulroadsides #okanagannativeplants #okanaganlandscaping #sagebrushnursery #habitatrestoration

Sagebrush Nursery 26.02.2020

Our evening primrose and winecup are in bloom! Both are delicate, pretty, and vibrant flowers to add to your landscape. Stay safe and enjoy another hot weekend here in the Okanagan everyone.

Sagebrush Nursery 06.02.2020

Fun little landscape project with @oliver.recreation at Oliver Small Wheels Park! Some nice low maintenance and drought tolerant plants at the base of the park to add some visual interest to the space. There was lots of action at the park today as it was the last day of a week long youth skateboard camp! Great to see so many kids and families getting outside and using the space! #droughttolerantlandscape #okanaganlandscaping #okanaganxeriscaping #oliverbc #oliversmallwheels #sagebrushnursery #familyfriendlyoliverbc @ Lions Park Oliver, BC

We always get lots of questions about #droughttolerant plants for our Okanagan weather. Okanagan WaterWise has a helpful list of water wise plants that is a great resource as you plan your landscape or if you are just looking to fill in a spot or two...or three... https://www.makewaterwork.ca/plants/

Sagebrush Nursery 17.12.2019

It is a bee and hummingbird fest at the nursery! We have got lots of monarda aka bee balm that is creating some extra excitement these days! The blooms in the pics have seen a lot of sun and wind and are almost finished but the bees don't mind at all! * * #summerinthegarden #theheatison #marvelousmonarda #okanaganlandscaping #sagebrushnursery @ Sagebrush Nursery

Sagebrush Nursery 04.11.2019

How is it the 2nd half of July already?! With the Okanagan heat upon us it is time to switch over to summer hours at the nursery. Same days just closing an hour earlier now at 3pm.

Sagebrush Nursery 27.10.2019

Wow - the heat is here! We hope you are enjoying some early morning or evening time in the garden when it is cooler. Now is the time to be deadheading and tidying up your early summer blooming perennials. (Unless you want it to go to seed of course!) * * Some plants will rebloom like your salvias, lavender and blanket flowers so it is worth the effort. Here are a couple of pics of the lovely seaside daisies before and after some clean up. A bee was determined to be on what was left of that one flower so we left it for him. @ Sagebrush Nursery

Sagebrush Nursery 22.10.2019

Check out some of our Edibles! Red currant, gooseberry, wild raspberry, rosemary, lavender, lemongrass, anise hyssop, and nodding onion! Lots of good stuff growing on here at the nursery. We are here today til 4pm. Enjoy the sunshine!

Sagebrush Nursery 10.09.2019

Another landscape project complete! Here is our hardworking crew after the final tidy up. The project started with a tired lawn and finished with a mix of keeping some of their favourite roses, trees and cactus and adding in several colourful and drought tolerant plants from our nursery such as lavender, barberry, yarrow, and some coreopsis. The lawn was replaced with various rock, mulch and a beautiful pathway to the backyard. #lowmaintenance #happycustomers #droughttolerant #okanaganlandscaping #okanaganxeriscaping #sagebrushnursery #curbappeal @ Oliver, British Columbia
