Meet Majo! We are excited to welcome her back to our Saplings crew and our UBC/kits and Laura secord programs! Here is Majo’s story from our kits beach programs!! During our Kitsilano pre-school program, I could see the happiness that children felt when they put their little feet into the sea. ... For many children it was the very first day away from their parents. The first hour of the program was challenging for them and for the educators, but as soon as we went to the beach the children were full of joy and laughs. They played in the sand, jump in the water and made new friends. These moments reminded me how much I love to work with kids in the outdoors" See more

I’d like to Introduce one of my K-3 teachers Emily. We are super excited to have Emily join our team and look forward to an awesome year ahead ...... This is Emily’s story from the forest. ... ~ In the forest this past week we got muddy exploring, creating and learning in what felt like new territory due to the amount of rainfall we received. The Saplings worked together build our own shelters and bridges to cross puddles. We also observed the different ways insects found shelter in the forest and investigated what new plants and animals appeared in the damp conditions. We had fun making boats out of natural materials and seeing which ones survived in the raging creek, we made our own rain songs, and shared stories about imaginative creatures. I realized that the relationship between weather patterns and the environment provides many opportunities to further our understanding of place. ~ Emily :) #forestkindy #naturekindergarten #outdoorkids #saplingsoutdoorprogram #northvankids
