The hip joint needs to be mobile and stable. Unfortunately many of us lack the mobility making us rely on other areas (usually the lower back) to create the needed range for an activity. Check out one of my fav flows to improve hip mobility. Always check with your practitioner first before attempting and honour your pain free range. Make sure to keep the foot flexed to protect knee. And it optional to pull legs in towards the chest. If it’s too tough to lie on floor fo...r your body, perform in your bed or seated in a chair. When we found out our daughter had hip dysplasia I started looking at baby items so differently. Anything that brought her legs in front of her was a no-no. Why? They bring the hips into adduction which is not the best alignment for her growing hips. Now that she is out of the harness, we want to continue to support her hip development without compromise. No exersaucers or jolly jumpers and her high chair was a concern for me. After some research I found the @theupse...at. Recognized by the @international_hip_dysplasia Institute as hip healthy and developed by physicians and physiotherapists. It is different from other seats as the legs are in abduction. As a #chiropractor that works with poor posture, it has the added benefit of a wedge that helps support her posture muscles so she is not slouched in the seat. It adapts to fit on a chair or on the floor. Light weight and easy to clean. She loves it and this Mumma feels comfortable with her in it. Thank you Upseat! #hipdysplasia #babygirl #sitting #posture

How you move.....when dealing with chronic pain or pain that begins after a specific activity, you must consider if how you move. Awareness of how your are accomplishing a task is the first step. After that incorrect movement pattern is identified and changed, pain should start to release and hopefully not come back. It may seem like work, it is, but it is worth it. If you are working through pain, consider how you are moving? And get help to identify and change that pattern.
