MARK YOUR CALENDAR - SATURDAY, APRIL 25th, 2015 10am 12:30pm City of Sarnia Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Sarnia Gives present: COMMUNITY PARKS CLEAN-UP DAY... *FREE BBQ to all registered participants will follow at Canatara Park brought to you in part by the Rotary After Hours Club. Join Us Cleaning up our City Parks, Trails, Boulevards and Public Spaces! Through this initiative, which coincides with Earth Week, we are asking our community to get outdoors into their neighborhoods and parks. We invite you our citizens, community groups/committees, local service clubs, local organizations to gather and assemble a crew, identify park space they wish to clean and register that site with the Parks & Recreation Dept. Once registered, clean-up groups will receive CLEAN UP KITS, provided in part by NOVA CHEMICALS, and support within those parks CLEAN UP KITS include gloves, garbage/recycling bags/paint/rakes/first aid kits. Anyone without a clean-up crew or specific site in mind? Join the Parks & Recreation Dept. Community Clean-Up Day group at either: Canatara Park or Rainbow Park 10:00am 12:30pm. Sarnia Gives will be approaching all High Schools as part of the Change the World youth volunteer initiative where Sarnia Gives will engage and educate students on the importance of volunteering and look to have students to participate and gain valuable volunteer community experience; we are expecting great support from our High School student community. For more information on this program and to register your specific park clean-up site or as a volunteer, please see the attached Information Package, Poster and Registration form visit us in person at the Parks & Recreation office or click on the links below.
