So.... a little rant about stupidity in this world followed by an amazing shout out. The stupidity... so in the last 5 days the city of Ottawa came out and sa...id they want to ban window visits at nursing homes. WTF???? Premier Ford basically said, and I am interpreting his words. stupidest thing ever, go see your loved ones! Then, the city of Burlington said no more birthday parades of more than 5 vehicles. Otherwise you need a parade permit! Again WTF??? Well here is the good part.... A week ago Friday my mother organized a drive by birthday celebration for one of her friends whom was turning 76 years old. As she and her 12 car processions proceeded down O'dell Street towards her friends house a Sarnia Police car rounded the corner and was driving towards them. He rolled down his window and stuck his hand out to stop the group. My mother and her "parade" stopped and the officer asked, where are you going, how old is your friend and can I join your group!!!! Of course he was invited to join and when he went by at the end of the parade he gave a couple of Whoop Whoops from the siren! That my friends is community Policing. They are here for us for the good, the bad and the ugly!! I wish I knew who that officer was. It is awesome that he did what he did. Shame on Ottawa and Burlington. Thank you Sarnia Police Service
