A reminder to parents, we are open for a full day today (Tuesday Aug 18th) and tomorrow. Thursday is the first day of school.

Just a heads up for parents, the summer break has been extended by one day, the first day of school is now Thursday, August 20th....we will be open for a full day on Wednesday, August 19th.

A note to parents : we have received new, somewhat relaxed guidelines from Health and Social Services. We will still be practicing "the safe six" but we will no longer require parents to sign the checklist forms when dropping their children off. Thankyou to everyone for being patient with us in signing them since our re-opening.

A reminder to parents, we will NOT be closing for our usual holiday time in July this year, we will be here through the summer.

Yes we are open :)

School Age Skills Program will re-open, with limited spaces, on Monday at 8am. We have some new guidelines to follow. Most importantly - We are being asked to limit the number of people entering the building. Parents should check in with staff and drop off/pick up children outside of our doors. - Parents are required to fill out and sign a questionnaire re: potential covid symptoms before their children will admitted to the program. These forms must be signed EVERY DAY or we... will not be able to provide care for your child. - We are supposed to be spending lots of time outside so please ensure that your children arrive with appropriate outdoor clothing and good shoes for walking, a hat, a water bottle, and sunscreen if need be. - If you have any questions please feel free to call Alex at 667-7078 - We will be doing our best to redesign the program so that we can all have fun while staying safe. We will figure it out. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy to announce that SASP will be re-opening, in phases, beginning June 1st. We have new operating hours (8AM-5:30PM) and there are new guidelines that we must follow. This information will be made available to parents later this week. There will be no parent fees in the month of June. We also will be welcoming Talitha to join us full-time to help make sure that we are complying with covid safety guidelines, helping us to keep everything clean and safe. Hi everyone, Alex here. New guidelines have been issued to child care centres and I am currently working on a plan for a phased re-opening of SASP in the month of June. I will be in contact with everyone soon with details. I hope you are all doing well and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Thankyou to all the parents who have been a part of our extended family over the last seven years. We intend to be back when it is safe to do so.

Due to the declaration of a public health emergency, School Age Skills Program will be closed effective tomorrow, Thursday March 19th. We will re-open when schools re-open after Easter.

Ready for Spring Break

Re: Covid19 As long as we are healthy we are planning on staying open and offering regular services for as long as we can. We will close if any of the following occur 1: if there is a confirmed case among staff or children attending the group, or reason to believe that one of us has been exposed to covid19. ... 2: if we are ordered to close by public health officials 3: if the school system closes; if it's too dangerous to be together at school it is also too dangerous to be together here. Otherwise we are doing lots of extra cleaning, emphasizing good hygiene habits and hoping for the best. Alex will remain in regular contact with officials at health and social services and try to keep everyone updated if anything changes.

We had a mock election at SASP afterschool today, it was a landslide for the Greens, they won 50% of the kid vote

Yes, we are open today! Danielle and Alex are back from some relaxing vacation time, we're looking forward to a fun four weeks of busy summer days until school starts again on Tuesday, August 20th.

Today is the first full day of summer break! Just a reminder to parents of our summer hours. On full days SASP is open from 7am-6pm. ... SASP will be closed Friday, June 21st for National Indigenous Peoples Day. SASP will close from July 1st-19th so that Danielle and Alex can take some holiday time, re-opening on Monday, July 22nd. SASP will be closed on Monday, August 19th for Discovery Day, the first day of school is Tuesday, August 20th. our animal charity project continues: we have raised another $85 for the Yukon Animal Rescue Network - YARN. These funds will be used for veterinary services. Thanks to everyone who donated :)

Another busy day at School Age Skills Program!

Getting ready for two weeks of Spring Break at School Age Skills Program. We will be open 7am-6pm Monday through Friday. School re-opens on Monday, March 25th. A reminder to parents that we will be spending lots of time outside everyday: kids need to bring snow-pants, boots, gloves, hats, etc. We will serve a morning and afternoon snack, kids should bring a healthy lunch. Breakfast is available for kids arriving before 9am. ... We are looking forward to a fun two weeks!

Wow, today marks SIX YEARS! since Danielle and Alex opened School Age Skills Program. So many adventures since then, thanks to everyone who has helped us out through the years :)

Fundraiser update : between our change box and sales of Danielle's artwork we have raised another $87.75 for the Yukon Animal Rescue Network. These funds will be used to pay for veterinary treatment of a rescued dog who will soon be out for adoption! Thanks to all who donated :D

Here is the report from our most recent inspection, which took place on January 2nd. We got one non-compliance item, one of the kids' forms was missing information. Alex and Danielle will be asking parents to check files over the next few days to ensure that we have correct and updated info.
