Check this out!! Adaptability is key to survival! This mama has the furriest feet I’ve seen in a long time! This extra fur helps protect her toes from frost bite, when she’s always walking around looking for food or shelter. Now imagine the dogs that cannot grow fur like this? Or little pups? Their poor toes! ... If you have an outside dog, take a look at their paws and make sure they don’t look red, raw or cut open! Message if you need help!

PLEASE NOTE: THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Late last night we were blessed with a very sweet mama named Becky and her 7, absolutely adorable little babies!!!... This mama is one of the dogs I’ve been waiting for, when we heard they were shooting dogs. Of course, our badass northern rescuers made sure she had a yellow ribbon around her neck, to signify that she’s owned and to please not shoot her. I’m thankful. So thankful her life was spared and we were able to fly her into Winnipeg! Her new life starts today! All thanks to some wonderful people!! She’s so sweet and these babies are chubby and all look great! A big thanks to her northern rescuers, transporters and Tails of Freedom for accepting them into their care. Their transport and flight cost us $250, so if anyone can make a donation, please etransfer/PayPal your donation to [email protected]!

Ayla update! This is the dog with the prolapse uterus!! She was so beyond skinny when her rescuers in northern Manitoba found her but look at her now!! She had a long road to recovery but this gentle soul definitely stole all our hearts. She’s ready to be adopted now and she’s in southern Ontario with our friends at Pound Dog Rescue! ... What a beautiful girl. I miss her so much but so glad she’s so close to her forever home. Your donations make it possible for our little rescue to help dogs like Ayla, who would die a very slow painful death due to a lack of veterinary care in northern Manitoba. Thank you all who donate and continue to support our efforts! We couldn’t do it without you!

Social distancing and contactless pick ups are preferred! ... If you’d like to get more info, please send us a message or email [email protected]

A massive collaboration of Toronto area shelters, Winnipeg pet stores, and First Nation community members are feeding hungry dogs in isolated communities hit hard by Covid! Dozens of covid cases have been reported already which means entire communities are on lockdown. Food is scarce and flights are limited so our covid relief fund is stepping in to make sure these dogs are fed! Huge thank you to our friends at the OSPCA and Pet Valu Charleswood for donating some of this fo...od! This loaded is headed up to Little Grand Rapids, being flown in by Amik Aviation! What a truly wonderful network we have. Such loving people! We are so blessed!! If you would like to donate money or dog food to our covid relief fund, please email [email protected].
