The Fiscal year end for the club is coming up at the end of October. It's been a bang up amazing year! In anticipation of this we will be closing the 2020 membership registration at 6pm tonight. FYI we are at 1549 members this year!! so amazing! The registration page for 2021 will be Shared in November, in time for early Xmas gifts ;)

With the SCMBC Board getting ready to wrap up 2020's fiscal year for the club I just wanted to post and say this. This year, even with it's rollercoaster has been an amazing one for SCMBC. With over 1000 known hours of manpower applied to the trails, km and km of new trails added in new and old regions, over 1500 members! I had no idea what this year would entail. As I look back over the last 12 months, I have a sense of pride in what we represent and what as a group we have accomplished. Thank you to all our supporters. Be then riders, members, sponsors, board members or land owners, Thank you all for 2020!!

Wanted to pass on some great news from the county that we received today. Parking has been a hot topic for 2020 and because of it we have been working with the county and Oro to come up with some plans. We’ve seen some parking expansions occurring at tracts like Breedon and others and we will see these expand as usage is monitored. Breedon is an example of a location where parking is being planned to be expanded in the near future. Some may have see the efforts done at the ...A lot at 8th line at the south end of Strachan. This lot is now available to be used and there is plans to make some minor changes to it. But a great safe location for parking. And the big success is the lot right at the Hub. On the creeks(Oro) side the logging operations started a lot. We have been talking with Oro from the spring when the plans of logging were first announced. And they have committed to work to make this lot larger and safer for sight lines when entering and exiting onto Bass Lake Side rd. A huge win for safety and access at this popular location. Will be great for family’s and kids. One item the County and Oro had requested is that we put the word out about the sight lines on line 7. This sandy areas were not intended for parking and Oro will be signing these as no parking and if required enforcement will be used. Please work to utilize one of the other lots as they become available. And thank you to all who respected to logging of Creeks. We got response that the logging operators were impressed with the activity around them and they had no concern of people using the tract.

It appears we’ve lost Schumacher in Oro for a bit. We weren’t informed of this operation being planned, but we’ve reached out to get specifics. Updates will follow as we find out the county’s plans. Please acknowledge and follow the guidelines of these signs.

The mountain Bike community continues to amaze me. The connections and involvement this year has been amazing. Look at those numbers! We still have some of the best riding days ahead of us! Epic fall days and winter Fatbiking. Our builder crews have been busy working on reroutes, new trails and brand new regions and general maintenance. All these trails are putting smiles on the faces of those that are experiencing them for the first time and reminding all of us how important... it is to take time to enjoy the forest on two wheels.
