Howdy Folks .... this is our Friends of the Park page. My name is Ernie Scoles and I am Indigenous and President of the Organization. I was one of the first Indigenous persons on this board in its history and am now President. Our board now consists of Indigenous and Non-Indigenous, we re-wrote the bylaws to contain more indigenous content, we put together a 5 year plan to grow as well as bring Indigenous and Non-Indigenous content to the Park. I'm hoping you will join us on ...this page and check out what we are doing to bring the tourist experience to PA National Park. We are a 36 year old organization and are a non-profit charity that consists of 6 board members at the moment. We are all about the environment and the history of PA National Park. We are a multi cultural entity and have been promoting the Indigenous culture in the Park and its last 6000 years of Indigenous history, and of course not forgetting the color and vibrancy of other cultures. We are in the process of working on and bringing a cultural center to Waskesiu, which is important to highlight the Indigenous folks that occupied the land for 6000 years, lots of stories ... good and bad. Making this work is a Team effort and our Board members, volunteers as well as assistance from outside stakeholders and partners are what make this happen so let us know if you want to join the team in a volunteer capacity. We will be honoring our sponsors throughout the year so watch for the logos. Affinity Credit Union was a big sponsor last year, sponsoring our 7 week TeePee series, there dedication to Reconciliation is Awesome. Check out our page to see what we got going on this year We have many events planned for this year so check out our page to see what we are up to, like our page and share it and Ill see you in Waskesiu ... Thanks

Good Morning Folks ... hope all is well, we are at the tail end of our cold spell and soon it will be time for Spring in the PA National Park. Winters just as gorgeous but always looking forward to the spring when things start opening up in Waskesiu Lake and PANP. We will be starting our season with a free hotdog bbq behind the bookstore, more to come on that. Another initiative is our Picnic table sponsorship program. We have 10 tables sponsored for materials and labor and are looking for donors of $200 per table, all money goes to Friends of the Park and the summer programs we are planning. We will embed a aluminum plate into the wood with your name or what you choose on it. Get back to me @ [email protected] or 1-306-934-2688 ... Thanks Folks and see you in the SIU
