We wish you all a joyous and safe holiday season and look forward to caring for your pets into the new year!

Remember to take extra precautions to keep your pets safe this Halloween! No matter if you choose to go out or stay in, there can be Halloween hazards all around. It’s best to keep pets away from candy, candles, and SPOOKY noises! #halloween #happyhowloween #petsandhalloween #spooky

There has been an increase in kennel cough cases in our area over the past number of weeks. If you suspect your dog may have kennel cough, please refrain from socializing with other neighbourhood dogs until after being assessed by a veterinarian. Please call to book an examination with one of our veterinarians if your dog is showing signs of coughing, hacking or gagging. We have specific protocols in place including an isolated exam room to prevent potential infection to other patients coming to our hospital.

With the second wave of COVID-19 upon us the statistics showing that Surrey in particular has an increasing number of active cases, we have made the decision for the health and safety of our team and their families to reduce our in-person examinations again. At this time will be asking that clients wait in their vehicle as we examine their pets. We have been observing that with owners entering our hospital and with extra precautionary disinfection measures the amount of time ...between appointments has been limiting our ability to see more patients who require our care. We are also noticing that pets are feeling more anxious when their owners are present in the room without being able to approach their pet due to physical distancing measures. All questions, history, and plan will be communicated by phone or at a social distance at the front of our hospital during this time, unless pre-approved by one of our veterinarians.

Next stage of our COVID precautionary measures takes effect Monday August 17th. We would like to announce that we now have our plexiglass screening and our physical distancing signs in place for those clients who would like to be present for their pet’s examination. One client per appointment will be permitted to enter along with the below precautionary measures. We are still very happy to provide curbside support for those clients who wish to continue to wait outside while ...their pet is examined. - One person per pet will be permitted to allow for adequate distancing given the number of appointments we see and our limited space - We will direct you from outside into one of our examination rooms when we are ready for your pet to be seen - A properly fitted face mask must be worn at all times - Hands must be sanitized upon entry and exit of the building - Clients must remain on the physical distancing marker located in each exam room. Your pet will be examined by your veterinarian with the help of an assistant - We will kindly escort you back outside after your appointment or prior to any necessary procedures should your pet require diagnostic testing. This is in order to allow for proper distancing within the examination rooms as some procedures often require additional team members to assist - Payment can be collected over the phone after your appointment or you can pay through tap or cash if necessary at the front counter behind our plexiglass screen For sensitive appointments, such as euthanasia, we will be continuing to allow two people into our isolation ward along with the use of face masks and hand sanitization. For those who choose to continue with our curbside appointment service for your pets please keep in mind the process we have set in place. Details can be found on our website. Please remember that for any orders please expect a 3-4 business day turnaround. Food orders and other products can also be purchased and delivered to your home through our online webstore (www.myvetstore.ca/). For medication refills please provide us with at least 48 hours notice for our team to prepare your medication as all requests require review and approval by one of our veterinarians. We thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to navigate this new reality. Our primary focus is the health and wellbeing of you, your pets, and of our entire team. Thank you from the entire Scottsdale team.
