His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, fell asleep in the Lord after suffering from COVID-19. Patriarch Irinej is not the first Orthodox Hierarch the Church loses to COVID, but is the first Primate of an Autocephalous Orthodox Church to die of Covid. Two other Primates remain hospitalized with COVID: Archbishop Anastasios of Albania and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens. Let us pray for their healing. ... Our condolences to our brothers and sisters in the Serbian Orthodox Church and especially the faithful of St. Stefan Church in Ottawa. St. Stefan Serbian Orthodox Church and Community in Ottawa, Ontario Christ is Risen.

Memory Eternal: Obituary for Ibrahim Hazim With great sadness and hope in the Lord we announce the passing of Ibrahim Hazim, on November 21, 2020, at the age of 83.... Beloved husband of Rosa Boutros. Ibrahim will be remembered as a wonderful father of Amal (George Samansson), Wafaa, George and Jihad (Rana Hawa). Wonderful grandfather to Dani, Johnny, Sandy, Ibrahim (Bobby), Andre and Mireille. Great-Grandfather to Savana and Savi. Predeceased by his siblings Elias, Mikhael, Mariam, Masike and Afifi. Ibrahim was a gentle soul who loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed being around family and friends. The family will hold a funeral service on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral 2975 Riverside Drive. Interment Beechwood Cemetery - Funeral arrangement entrusted to Beechwood Cemetery 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa. Due to government regulations, only 160 people are allowed in the cathedral at the same time. Face masks and social distancing guidelines are in effect. In memory of Ibrahim, donations to St. Elias Cathedral would be appreciated.
