How many of you have your Christmas decorating done already? I would normally have our halls all decked by now, but our kitchen renovation has put that on hold. I'm just itching to get started though...Christmas decor is my favourite! I'm hoping the kitchen will be close to finished by next week and then the tree trimming can begin-yay! I sure do Now that mid September is fast approaching, Ive been busy adding a few simple touches of Fall around our home For the foyer display, I simply changed out the previous tropical summer leaves in the clear vase, in favour of some branches in more autumnal hues. A few faux pumpkins, a wooden bead garland and the sweetest enamel sign complete the look

Just popping in to share another kitchen redo update :) After much thought, weve found a flooring winner! Thanks for your feedback on the 2 flooring options that I shared last week- so nice to get different thoughts and opinions. I loved both options but ended up deciding that neither option was exactly right, the chevron was a beautiful pattern but the in person sample read as more cool and gray then I wanted. The marble look pattern had a little more contrast then I ho...ped for and again was too gray When I came across this travertine style, luxury vinyl plank tile at Carpet Factory, from Mannington, I knew we had found the winner! It combines all of the tones that weve selected for the kitchen so far, while also adding some soft and subtle color and texture and also complimenting the existing hardwood in the adjoining dining and family room areas

Happy Friday friends! Just wanted to check in with another little update on our upcoming kitchen reno. Ive pulled together some images of the elements that we have decided on so far and now its time to select our flooring. The flooring decision is a little more complicated, since our kitchen area is separated by a peninsula and has a different flooring than the adjoining dining/family room/main floor area which has oak hardwood. Ideally, I would get the hardwood refinish...ed and then get some hardwood matched to extend in to the kitchen area as well, but that would be a much bigger renovation project/tear up than we would like to get into right now. Weve decided instead that we will go with a complimentary vinyl plank floor in that area for now. We will likely look to refinish all of our hardwood in the next few years, so a vinyl plank will be easier to change out then, if we do decide to run the hardwood right into the kitchen area as well. Long story short, weve narrowed down the vinyl plank options to this chevron look or the marble look. Its so fun getting all of your wonderful feedback so Ill ask again...which look is your fav? Thanks so much for your feedback on my backsplash options for our upcoming kitchen reno - looks like were going with the white brick Today brings another kitchen design decision -cabinet hardware Id love to hear your thoughts again on these choices. Keep in mind that so far weve selected white cabinetry with a few elk stained wood accents, the Denali Cloud marble styled quartz counters, the white matte Cafe appliances and a white brick backsplash. For the hardware Im looking at options to compliment the beautiful gold toned handles on the Cafe appliances. Here are the 3 pull style options that Im considering . Thanks so much for your appliance feedback - we chose the white matte with the gold handles. I dont think I could love an appliance finish more! I am so excited for the change from our current appliances which are stainless steel. Today brings another kitchen design decision -backsplash options You all have seemed to enjoy playing along so Id love to hear your thoughts again on these 2 choices.
