Colocasia Alocasia?? I got this plant months ago with no label and have YET to find out what it is.. Does anyone know what plant this is!? Every time I think I’ve figured it out something throws it off! It was placed near the Colocasia’s and Alocasia’s but again had no distinct labelling.. So far its care needs have been fairly easy. christmas cactus blooms I could take pictures of these all day but they’re only here for a few seasons! Christmas cactuses are an awesome houseplant! They already have such a unique chain like look and then they produce these vibrant delicate flowers that can be seen in white, pink and red! If you have a christmas cactus and its not producing flowers try moving it to a spot with brighter light! If they don’t receive enough light they can adjust and continue to remain happy a...nd healthy but they likely will not produce flowers. Calathea Roseopicta Personal Plant Preview! Got this beauty a few weeks ago on a trip to the garden centre that was suppose to be for soil mixing supplies.. oops! Plants are a weakness ok! I put calatheas on both of our bedside tables to add some life to those lifeless spots and calatheas are a perfect plant for this space because they can tolerate the lower light! They get low amount of bright indirect light and as long as their soil is kept moist they do very well! String of Hearts * Not for Sale * My lonely string of hearts. These started out as small propagations that I got from my brother and I am finally starting to see some length. I just did a bunch of extra research on how to propagate these to make a more full plant and am experimenting with it for the first time! I took one decently long strand off the string that had the most grown and cut between each of the nodes (where the leaves sprout off the vine) and placed them back ...in the pot with the nodes pressed firmly on top of the soil to ensure they are touching. From what I’ve read/watched/heard it should produce roots from the nodes within a couple weeks as long as the soil is kept decently moist and they receive a lot of light! There are many other ways these can be propagated, if you already have a full plant and just want to make more propagating in water seems to be the easiest from what I can gather!
